Hurricane Katrina hit us here in Miami in its first landfall as a
Category 1. Our hearts and prayers go out to those in Louisiana and
neighboring areas, and we hope they stay safe and comfortable.

I'm so sorry for the devastation it has caused the Gulf cities.   In Mississippi they're expecting death counts to be fairly high.  I'm however only thankful for one thing, the fact that New Orleans is still salvageable.  I am deeply sympathetic for those who have lost their homes, possessions or loved ones.  I'll be thinking and praying about you all.  It is a hard sight to see on video even.  I can't imagine if it were my reality.

As am I.  I am a morning tape editor/production assistant at the CBS affiliate in Knoxville, TN and I had to get some satellite feeds this morning and put together a tape of the damage in Louisiana and Mississippi and the stuff I saw was terrible. I'll be praying for all of you who are down there in that mess.

My condolences to everyone out there.  Does anyone know of any
volunteer services that are going out there to help rebuild, search
& rescue, etc.?  I'd like to find out more information on that
sort of thing, and possibly lend a hand.

Hey man, I'd worry about the people there before you worry about Mardi
Gras. There are so many elderly, sick, and people in need that it is
amazing. Reports are saying that the Superdome has at least 20,000
people in it and there is no running water, electricity, or sewage.
People are trapped on the roofs of their houses. With the levees
broken, the water is only going to rise.

I pray for all of you down there.

Keep safe and God be with you.

Ahmen. It was 15 years ago I beleive (correct me if im wrong) Hurricane Andrew hit Florida and oh boy that was bad and I was in the eye of that hurricane =\ I would wish no one would have to live through or experience that. Good luck and my prayers are with you.

BlackNMild! Glad to hear you are safe man, hope everything clears up and you can get back to your life soon. Is ShadowstalkeRS also out of NO? I hope you guys stay safe and I hope this whole thing doesnt effect you too much...

As for the images I've seen, all I can do is stare in awe. I had no clue the flooding would be so widespread and do so much damage. The images alone are enough to scare me, I can't image what the people that are living in that mess are thinking.

I have already worked within my faction and the Americares charity to establish a direct link through a paypal account to make donations to Americares. If anyone would like to help and does not feel comfortable donating to a charity by creditcard (that's all red cross and salvation army accept) please contact me and I will explain details to you and point you towards where to go in paypal.

I appreciate any help you would be willing to give, as do the people currently in desperate need in New Orleans and the surrounding areas.

If you do not have any questions but would like to make a donation you can reach my paypal account on my factions forum  :  http://www.therisentriad.com/forums  by clicking a link on the bottom of any page(can't miss it. big green button that says "hook a brother up" )

thanks again and the thoughts of all of the members of The Risen Triad go out to those affected by this tragedy.
