Yeah, I just did a search and you can pick up Intel dual-cores in the 2-3 GHz range for under $100. I was amazed by how cheap the quadcores are now too, $100-200.

My problem is that I'd have to upgrade my Motherboard... If I have to do that, I may as well get new RAM, video card, and case (since i'd also need a bigger powersupply).

With the baby in the house, I don't see that happening anytime soon SMILEY

I was about to say - the motherboard will probably have to be changed for a dual-core, so it's more complicated than it sounds. I had exactly the same problem with Assassin's Creed: the first game to require a dual-core processor, and while one was available for my motherboard and socket type, it was incredibly rare by that point and because of the sudden demand the price had gone crazy.

So I waited and got a new PC.

Got a console you can buy it for instead?

Ya man I feel ya. When I got my dual-core, it wouldn't fit in the mobo slot ofc (they wanna make u buy more stuff, so they change the pin config), so i had to buy a mobo, which wouldn't fit in the case, and then the case and eventually the optional power supply (400mhz was recommended so i didnt wanna take any chances).

BTW, Virrago I think you should ask for a raise or a Christmas bonus and buy a new computer

My wife and I just had a baby, babies are expensive

Congratulations on Fatherhood. A baby is a much better reason to ask for a raise SMILEY

Well, our pre-order copy got delivered tonight. Had a bit of fun creating a Sarah Palin and introducing her to the radioactive wasteland that the United States has become. Already looted a perfect pair of reading glasses. Just need to find that rifle and the illusion will be complete.

I had that issue when i was thinking about upgrading my Processor too, and then the next day the motherboard packed in anyway. So it was time to invest in a new tower xD

It's only about 6 gig... but Steam must be getting hammered.
