Agent Pace,

 

 I am not sure if you monitor Data Node One frequently for developments within The Matrix, but I shall make this request here as it was suggested to me by friends within your Organization. You may have heard of me. Commodore Austrian of Triluminary. Some say I am a pacifist. Others say I am a visionary- a man who will lead both our races into a new tomorrow. Many others say I am simply insane. I suppose I cannot blame those who mark me as a madman. How many would be willing to do anything for the sake of loving one of the most evil women to have ever existed? Not many. Someone told me last night that that sort of selflessness was the mark of a courageous soul. I'm not sure I agree. Maybe that means my optimism has worn out. I don't know.

 

 This brings me to the the point of why I'm writing this. I don't really know much. There are some things I know. But I do not know nearly as much as I should. I need answers to my questions. And you might have them. I need to know mundane and general things, like whether or not Austria really exists in The Simulation or if it was just a manufactured memory or whether there was only one language in the beginning and The Machines created the others to sow confusion or if there really was such a thing as the German language. But I, more than anything else, need to know a few specific things: why The Machines made it so Return would never be able to bear a child, what could be done to cure her, whether or not you really want peace. I want to know if you can feel what I feel.

 

 I'm asking to speak with you and not Gray for a reason. I have never done anything against The System or The Machines. I have fought alongside your Human associates many times. I call many of them friends and comrades more so than I call members of The Merovingian's Organization. But all of this would count for nothing with Gray. He would just as soon shoot me dead than answer any of my questions. To him, I would be just another fugitive and a terrorist, even if my efforts have led me to help Mega City Department of Energy routinely against members of E Pluribus Neo and the like. But you... you seem different. You seem reasonable. And for that reason, I have decided to do this. There is always every danger that you will have me ambushed and there is the possibility that you will ignore my request to simply... talk and learn from you. But I'm hoping neither of these things happen. But, no matter what you decide, what happens, happens. I learned the hard way not to resist Fate, Causality, whatever. The Matrix no longer has me. But something else certainly does.
