A SOE global chat protocol would be really handy right now. Think along
the lines of the TOC protocol that AOL released to allow external
applications to connect to their AIM networks. External chat programs
allow players to keep in touch with their friends, family and
arch-rivals. From an immersion point of view it is a major bonus, the
more seconds, minutes and hours in a work day that players have contact
to The Matrix Online the more likely they are to keep playing.
SOE wouldn't necessarily have to develop the chat client once they have
released the specification. Plugins and stand-alone applications would
popup from the playerbase. The result would be a program to fill the
gap left behind by the
external communication capability we lost with the removal of AIM.
Benefits of this would also fallout to all of the SOE family of games.

Although the majority of what your saying is jibberish to me i agree
that the more time players spend on mxo related chat the more they may
be inclined to keep playing and keep paying.
