"Man, they're every where, how are we going to get out of this alive?!" Shouted our captain amidst the EPN counter-attack. While most of what I could hear were bullets whizzing past us in every direction, I could also pick up a faint sound from the peripheries of my auditory senses. Was that…laughing? Turning to see the source, sheltered behind a wall loading his guns… "What the hell are you laughing about?!" With a chuckle he replied, "forgot to load my guns, heh." With that, he immediately broke cover and rushed headlong into the enemy...whoever this man was, was quite obviously insane. Yet, somehow...we made it through...
( An attempt of mine to combine the graphical work I've been struggling at with some of the backstory for my characters, I'll be using this thread to lay it out as I've seen it in my head as best I can. Since I'm just getting started at putting this together I'll begin with two of my own characters. I hope to then expand to other subjects besides myself...so do feel free to comment, criticize and hopefully in the end assist me in my attempt to illustrate some of the smaller parts that make the Matrix a whole...)

Through the night the child stumbled, resisting the urge to curl up in a fetal position amidst the terrifying sounds of the dark. Where he was he had no idea, but he was most certainly far from home and any vestige of warmth, comfort...safety. From around a corner came the faint glow of a street lamp; hoping to gain his bearing the child pushed on. She glided into the gloom from the light, with a radiance and warmth that seemed to cling to her from whence she came. With a grace that seemed unnatural yet all the while soothing merely to witness, she stepped toward the child. In the most audible whisper she said, "You look lost little one, come...I will show you the way..."
