Wow, it certainly has been a LONG time since I've even thought of visiting these boards lol. But let's move to why I'm posting here...

As much as I'm sure it would make me, and my Sirens happy to see some kind of memorial, I understand and respect the choice as stated by Walrus.

Scorpia was, and forever will be, one of the founding members of the Sirens when we first reorganized last year after the 'Nimbus' dynasty. I remember her for her fashion sense, willingness to help just about everyone, and occasionally have a sharp toungue from time to time lol. (She ALWAYS spoke her mind... one of the best qualities I look for in a potential.)

When we, The Sirens, brought up to the GM's, we weren't expecting the response we had gotten. However, I know it made her VERY happy what some of the GM's did for her. Considering that there's sometimes not a lot you can do in an electronic family, it was a very nice gesture both on Monolith's, and Awakened Radio's behalf. I will always remember that day as one of my BEST experiences in the game.

As stated before, some kind of monument/memorial would be nice, but what I would really like from this, and any other, gaming community to do, is to donate to the American Cancer Institute. $1 may not seem like a lot, but if it comes from thosands of players, it can really have a difference!

Thank you all for your very kind words,

The Lady Kayaus, Leader of The Sirens' Islands

I never knew her. . .wish I had the chance to meet her at least after reading posts from those that did.  I would have replied sooner but I was having a problem signing in.  I think I first saw this thread when it was like three pages or so.  I doubt we'll see any in-game memorial type thing after reading Walrus post.  What I will say is that this entire thread is one hell of a memorial to Scorpia.  May it not be moved, locked, hidden or deleted.  May it remain here so all of the community can read it and express any thoughts or feelings they wish, to truly get to know one another and the Sirens.

I suffer from a broken heart upon kicking or loosing a crew/fac member to another or if someone decides to jack out forever alone.  This thread has both broken my heart, made me cry as I reply and made me feel wonderful all at the same time.  Having never met or known you Scorpia, my sadness is doubled.

My happiness is also doubled.  After reading all of these posts including the simple /sign ones.  I love you all!  That being said, I am changing the way I play this game for many reasons, Scorpia being one of them in a big way.

I have three characters on Recursion.  Praey lvl 50, Praey2 lvl 21 and Praey3 lv 8.  (Stop laughing!)  I gave them the same name first, so that players I know will recognize me and yes they all look the same.  Praey lvl 50 is Zion.  Praey2 will be Merovingian and Praey3 Machine.  This way I can help all new Redpills.  It is also because that is just how I would be in real life.  I could go on and on and I know that I may not have anyone want me in their crew or faction because they are worried I'm some sort of spy or something but so be it.  If I must go this alone, I will.  This way I can honor her in-game without having to ask for anything from anyone.  Scorpia was a big, positive help to those around her according to those that knew her.

I am doing this firstly because it's just the kind of person I am and secondly, in honor of Scorpia and every single true hero (of all types), our world has known or not known.  Also in honor of a public/high school friend who lost the battle with bone cancer at 17.  Sadly that was 11 years ago and my friend David Barns didn't live long enough to enjoy the Matrix universe, although I'm sure he would have loved it!  David was just like Scorpia according to previous posts by those who knew her.  Almost always positive and understanding and helpful.

People like you Scorpia, are an inspiration to us all.  I am sure you are in a place that is full of love, happiness and plenty of laughter!  Know that those both close to you and far away miss you, love you and that you live on in all their memories all over the world.

A tragic event unfolds everyday and many got unnoticed and unjustly so. I did not know Scorpia but I am sure that if she were here today she would be as bright a light in these dark times. I would imagine that she would be running around the Matrix helping all manor of people from all organisations. If there is a God I believe that she would've somehow left an inprint in the game which she loved, maybe the NPC change would be a justly tribute to a tragic hero.

May your spirit rest in peace with all those who like yourself were taken from us at their prime. (In memory of Chungo who tragically died of Asthma aged 20.)

I also knew a person who played this game that apparently had cancer (not sure which kind) and recently passed away. I won't name her just because it's not my buisiness to do so, but I definitley agree with this idea.

I think it is a great idea. I did not know Scorpia all that well, but when I did see her in game she was always very polite and happy.  Great idea guys!!

The things that I have read on this thread are very touching, the
friendships that develop on this game are quite amazing. I never did
know Scorpia, but during my short days of being on method before
switching servers Im almost positive I ran into her once or twice. Now
the reasons SOE cannot do this are understandable and just seeing that
they have responded and stickied this is a good way to show they care.

I know that it would be illogical for them to switch Raini's name
because that would directly effect the game and how it was written
originally. My favorite of the ideas expressed here would be a memorial
or statue dedicated to all those in this game who have passed
away. I had someone who was in two of my factions who passed away, she
was a great friend to myself and many more, and I doubt many people
disrespected her, she was one of those who from the descriptions I have
read, seem to be like Scorpia.

Something I would propose, which I doubt will ever happen as it is too
late, is if she was one of those who loved helping those around them,
why not put her (if not in name but appearance) in the new Redpill
tutorial that will be releasing this week, from what Walrus has said it
would not be possible due to the policys SOE has set up. Either way,
its good to bonds like these in MxO, it really shows how the community
is.
