yo, hows it going , ok well this is simple mxo has mass capabilities for updates mainly mxo should lean towards a mix with GTA 4 style game play, with cops and etc... 3rd person free fire and press button system for your physical attacks , along with more weapons like gernades, plantable bombs, gernade launchers(that equip to assualt rifle types) also with rocket launchers. Also the capability of owning properties as such: clubs(with the avialability or uploading music personalized from the owner/DJ) or club/fight clubs with hosting tournament capabilities, cars, bikes(cars and bike customization with drive by and use of all weapons from inside the cars), helicopters and planes and jets(with assualt capabilites), and of course a garage to place them in even garages at the club/fight club *note: these things such as clubs/fight clubs and garages should be fractionalized or oriented to your clan that pulls money together for these properties* also for individuals apartments houses(MXO's vast maps has these capabilities and room) that can be customized, JUST THESE THINGS ALONE will bring back the mass players mxo had and MORE. The capability to own the car places that sell cars housing developements and clubs etc. the capabilities to actually preforme a sneaky tactical operation(such as setting c4 for entrances and blinding gernades/smoke bombs along with the abaility to blow up the building that your enemy is contained in.) on an enemy fractions operations or full out war on their turfs(MASS PROPERTY OWNAGE and DAMAGING)*note such as using the jets for bombing 1 per clan* and also having property insurance for such cases and so on... these developements would massivly attrack players as to say it's easy to atract bees with honey then it is garbage, cause well BEES LIKE HONEY!!!!!

3 posts on the exact same topic, necessary? If you'd have done a search, youd see these things have been discussed to death. At the moment we don't have a main Dev so nothing new gonna happen, and SoE don't care about us so nothing will ever happen..

So basically, scrap the existing engine/game code (Basically everything that is MxO) and create a GTA clone MMO from the ground up? You expect SOE to do this?

Also owning property in the Matrix is a strange idea explainable for exiles, but for humans?

I'm with you on that: It's understandable if you're running an Exile character, but for a human -- unless you're a Machine or a Merv operative -- it borders on bending canon.

But I wouldn't mind an option where you could legit create an Exile character, and go through a different sent of introductory material. Instead of taking the Red or the Blue pill, you're called into the Source, and the Architect has you chose Deletion or Exile

Just looking at this thread, and looking at the SOE stable of top games listed on the FanFaire site (and yes, MxO is one of them!). . .

Can you imagine what SOE would be like if they allocated serious WoW-scale resources to fully develop all their titles:

  • DC Universe Online
  • Everquest I & II
  • Planetside
  • Star Wars Galaxies
  • The Agency
  • The Matrix Online
  • Vanguard

That is one hell of a bunch of big-name players in the MMO world. I think they would overtake Blizzard in total subs if they were to develop each of these games to the highest level.

I mean, think about it, really picture it. If each of those games were helmed with player-oriented devs who worked as tirelessly as Rarebit did for us, can you imagine how awesome it would be to able to jump from a great spy game to an awesome FPS to a Star Wars, Everquest, or DC superhero toon, then back to a kick-asz cyberpunk game with a great interlock combat system and incredible continuing storyline. . . People would soon be saying "WoW who?" instead of lambasting SOE as the bastard-step-father-that-no-one-likes-but-has-all-the-money of the MMO world.

Hell, I'm thinking seriously about upgrading to the Station Pass just to see what I'm missing.

/sigh. . .

Realized potential is all we have right now...who knows? Maybe someone capable of having vision will fall in place and things could take off. God knows I would be glad to see World of Warcraft be forced to actually compete and make original and dare I say FUN content.

The biggest difference between most MMORPG's right now is the flavor, nothing more and nothing less. I'm hoping some company somewhere will actually decide to innovate and go beyond mindless grinding to 'X-Level' to get 'X-Super Shiny Armor That Will Be Vastly Inadequate After Five Minutes' I mean...everyone plays games for different reasons but both of those reasons are boring to me. Immersible role play with an evolving story...that is music to my ears and...yeah I'm just beating a poor dead horse at this point.

The time has come and gone for MxO. It never got the attention it deserved, and never achieved the potential it had, partly due to monolith and partly due to SOE. For me, the best times were in monolith, but SOE has definitely done a good job of dragging out the lifeline of MxO. As much as I love this game and everything that has happened in it, I can't see us being around for too long into the future.

So this thread, along with about the 5 others you made, is indeed, a /facepalm!
