I switched orgs once and it didn't activate.

You need to have positive rep for the org you are in to make it work.  When I went Machine, my Zion Req didn't work until I had 1 Machine rep.  And then, when I activated it, it said I was activating "Glimmer of the Source".  When I returned to Zion, it no longer worked until I had 1 Zion rep.

IMO, it should activate some type of bonus, perhaps with accuracy or defense %. It would be a nice "gift" to veterans as everyone always seems to want to have veteran rewards that can be /claimed like other games.
