He is on dial-up phi.  I have never heard of a dial up modem with built in firewalls, but I guess there is a first for anything.  Are you on an external dial up modem provided by your ISP, or is it an internal model.

It's a internal model.

Yeah, I really doubt that is the cause.  You may want to verify that the modem does not have any built in firewall, but I have certainly never heard of an internal 56k modem with one.

It doesn't have a built in firewall.

Alright, in that case, I would recommend going back to the PC.  There is no reason it should be timing out on your PC based on a software firewall, unless you are running a software firewall with port blocking, which the Windows firewall does not have.

ok this may be a long shot but go to controll panel> security center > windows firwall >then to the exceptions tab.

then click add port and add

tcp port 10000-11000
udp port 10000-11000

tcp port 7030
udp port 9700

i had a really bad experience with another game and windows firewall, wher the firwall was acctually blocking the main menu of the game from launching or minimizion which means i had to do a hard reset, a simple firewall tweak here and ther with exceptions and ports fixd that up. SMILEY

hope this helps

Ok they replyed telling me to either reinstall the matrix online or buy a securer firewall. I've tried both and none of them work.

Did they explain why I am timing out on what is supposedly your computer when there is no firewall running?  I do not see how a more secure firewall is going to allow you more access.

Sorry about the modem connection question... these *explete deleted* forums only showed me 2 pages of this thread.

Install ZoneAlarm then allow MxO access. Installing ZoneAlarm will override the windows firewall and fix any issues it is causing.

Andras. start your own thread and post your system info.

Also, when uninstalling MxO, remove all the shortcuts created as well.
