If fact no we couldn't do this it would be mightly unfair to anyone who didn't already have their character(s) copied over.
The info duping is a side effect of the copy process. The only real way to prevent this would be to make sure your info didn't transfer to the Test World. And then players would be forced to grind cash for testing. While grinding is valuable testing in certain cases it is rather tedious and we would want player's to focus on the testing we would need done not grinding missions to make cash.
Seeing as how money was given away to players to help them max out for proper testing, is it safe to assume it was item duping that was more of a problem?
And if it was, would it be possible to only copy a character and not their inventory but put in enough money to fully max out a lvl 50 with all abilities and a bit extra to recode clothes?
and why not open it back up and give a daily system message that shows the key things in need of work or bugs in need of reproduction?
and, true, there may not be any new content, you may not have a confidentiality plan for releasing criticals ( to keep spoilers to min), and there may not even be anything you think is worth testing....all right all right, i just miss QA

IT was fun pwning the carebears, except for Aquatium, he's pretty good
I think it's fun just to see and meet people from the other servers, oh ya, and the whole "testing" thing
