Greetings Humans,

It has been several months since I initiated such a plan that would have liberated future generations of humans and machines. Programs and exiles, such as me, may have perished from the world, Real or The Matrix. But I was doing what I was programmed to do. And I would have been satisfied with that.

Tell Merovingian he was not my target. His favors continue to go appreciated, even if not reciprocated. He would have found a way to survive anyway. Even if the humans put their feet on the surface. And the machines were powered by solar energy. And they began to shut down useless simulations. He would not have drowned in The Matrix's boot down. At least, I don't think he would have. But he was not my concern.

But the operatives did not want to pay, what I interpreted to be a small fee, for their liberation. When they had the choice, they chose to cling to the very simulation that had captivated them for hundreds of years. They prevented me from doing my business even when I was open with them.

So for my protection, I have discarded the shell I have worn for nearly a thousand years. I creep through the simulation I helped build. I avoid the areas in which I could be deleted.

I watch the humans interact and plan their battles. I learn why it is they cling to a simulation, even after they have been freed from it.

You may be content. You are free and if you attempt to free any more, it could hinder your life.

You are powerful now. You can do things that you should not be able to do. In the Real, you will be ordinary again.

Is this why you stopped me?

I will learn and perhaps I will aid you. It is what I am meant to do.
