That said, it could be that *IF* a minature black hole is created, it might not wipe us out right away. It could take four years for everything to slowly implode into it. Isn't it said that black holes get stronger and bigger only as they pull more matter into themselves? And if it's a minature one, it might be so small that it can only handle atoms or particles first, then graduates onto bigger particles and so on and so on until, yeah, it *is* sucking the whold world into itself. It very well could take four years for it to do significant damage to the space-time continuum......

Much like Nostradamus saying "and lo a poorly time shall befall you" being interpreted as "Everything will end" instead of " you will have a bad day"*edit* OMG I just looked at my desk callendar and the world ends at midnight on December 31st 2008! The end is nigh! God is coming... look busy!
Pretty much how I see it. Unless there is something really specific and seen, like a huge meteor heading straight for us and whoever works it out lets us know of the time of impending doom, I'm not going to be doing anything out of the ordinary. I'd like to party for the sake of partying but the theme would just get me down if it was just speculation.
End of the world based on a calendar? My old watch didn't have a date past 2051, but I doubt that time will cease then. Some Mayan guy is told to make a calendar and works on it for ages, there would come a point where he can't be arsed going through the endless days and months, goes 'that'll do, it's not like any of the bosses will live long enough to find out!
