The lack of permanance immediately kills any chance it had of being an "OMG I need to have that now!" item, since for about the same grind, you can get a physical item which will not deactivate out of the blue and... honestly, how ridiculous would it look to have a sword on your back for two minutes, only to have it disappear? Meh.I don't care that everyone would be running around with it - it's a fad, just like the Area K was. For the love of God, you can't tell me you didn't see everyone and their brother with a flippin' Area K the first month or so after that was released, but now it's disipated. The same would happen with a perpetual sword.Dunno... I just really think it sounds absurd to have a sword on your back that vanishes at a given time.

I had an idea regarding the timer:
The normal archives version should be moved so it goes diagonally across the lower back from left to right. Then the special Live Event version can go diagonally from right to left creating crossed blades. Both can be perpetual, only few people will get the twin blades and as already mentioned, anything new will become a fad and everyone will gain it, but given time, only the die hard users will carry on using it.
I know I wouldn't use it much at this point in time anyway as I dont think it will look good with my current costume.
I love the style and imagery associated with ninja's, samurai and their paraphenalia but the Matrix is supposed to be a convincing simulation of a typical 90's city, so a timer is very much a nescessary evil in this case.....
The blue headlamp is an 'item', yet it only sticks around for 2 minutes or so. I imagine that there will be 'perpetual sword' FX for people who win events. My issue with it is that it simply looks huge. I was thinking it'd be a little more proportionate.Maybe it's just the angle at which the picture is taken.Something like this is what I'm talking about:- Void
