My theory is that Seraph is the first being who is the melding of a human and a program. His code is unique, and Neo had never seen anything like it. I understand that his unique code could merely be intended by the Wachowski Brothers to be symbolic of his role as an angelic protector type, but I can't help but try to figure out the practical reasons behind it as well.
All programs appeared the same to Neo, including Agent Smith and the Oracle, who were both very unique programs. So if they appeared as normal green code, why wouldn't Seraph also appear that way? I racked my brain trying to think of the answer, when it occurred to me that he would have to be a completely new kind of being. He doesn't appear like a human RSI, and he doesn't appear like a Program. I couldn't think of any possible third type of being other than a melding of the two. Therefore, that's how I reached my conclusion.
It might sound stupid, and I'll either be disproven later as the official storyline advances, or worse yet, the subject matter will simply never be addressed. Knowing the Wachowski Brothers' penchant for keeping things vague and unexplained, I'd lean toward the latter (dangit).
One of the really cool features that this forum has is being able to look at messages in a threaded format (if the previous forum also had that feature and I just never knew it, feel free to flame me). Anyway, I used this format constantly in Outlook Express while attending an online school, and it's fantastic for keeping specific conversations within a thread organized. If you use this viewing feature, you'll know exactly who responded to your specific posting as well as which ones are offshoots of some other posting.
Not everyone will use it, especially those who are used to simply replying to whoever made the last posting, but for those who do use it, it will be extremely rewarding.
Again, if the last forum had this feature already and most of you were already using it, send me a big "Duh!"
:smileyhappy:

I think Seraph's gold code simply showed him to be "not of the matrix", i.e. a program from the machine world. I think the Oracle looked exactly the same to Neo. Actually we do get to see her code when Smith overwrites her and she's gold too.
Doesn't mean he's not special. But his code, I'm pretty sure, just means he's from outside the Matrix.

I disagree... then again I'm technically red/green colorblind. I've seen the scene many many many times tho, I promise, and I'm convinced (In my handicapped way) that her code is gold too.
Circumstantial evidence: Gold is the color of the essence of machines and their color in the Real World. Seraph and Oracle are from the Real World. Green is the color of the Matrix. They are not from the Matrix.

First define what you mean by "from" since according to my understanding, they all came from the Source in the Real World. Their purpose might be different, such as Ramakandra assigned to the Real World while Agents are assigned to the Matrix. But all programs originally had their origin in the Real World. Again, that's just my understanding, so if I'm mistaken on that please let me know.
