I stumbled across this while looking for ypour mxo config thread... I took both AP Euro and US back in high school, many moons ago. How are they grading them now? Back then it was on a 5-point system.
Lucky for me, I was blessed with a semi-photographic memory, so I got 5s on both. Actually entered college with 36 credits form all the AP courses I took in 11th and 12th grades.
3 year old thread is old.
Still the 5 point system, as far as I know. Easy enough to get 5s, but half the colleges these days don't accept external credit for major-required courses, so only so many are worth anything to fill Gen Ed requirements.
lol funny to stumble upon this, I took it last year and it was horrible :[ I passed all the practice exams but then got a 2 on the US final...
Anywho this year I get to take 4 AP exams (English lit, Spanish language, Pychology, and US gov) which cost $90 each!!!!
on a brighter note I just found out I got into UC Santa Cruz!!!!

Eh, every school I applied to took the credit. I was a software engineering major at my first college and they took my 4 on the Computer Science A exam to put me in an honors course. My 4 in Calc AB also got me credit for Calc I and placement in Calc II, and I got Freshman Comp credit for my Language and Composition AP 4. All my other AP scores were 2s or 1s and were disregarded, but I got credit for them through dual-enrollment at my community college anyway.
Granted, I took all of these courses 2-3 years ago...
AP stuff is generally pretty worth your time, though. If I hadn't done it, I'd be way behind in school right now 'cause an English Ed major is pretty friggin' hard to hold down just because of the courseload. Granted, I have to take two math courses, and because I already have a Calc I credit, I have to take something at or above that level that isn't Calc I...
Yeah, AP stuff is pretty awesome.
3 on AP US Hist gave me 3 of my 6 hours of History.
4 on my AP Eng Lit gave me 6 hours of English.
2 on my AP Calc gave me nothing, though. :P
Still, I started college with 9 hours and add some summer courses here and there and I can graduate a semester early. :)
I have AP World History.
I had three AP tests last year for senior year, and that was a 5 point grading scale system, too. I don't think it has changed too much.
