When fighting in mêlée and your opponent is using a gun, would that still be considered mêlée or would that be considered ballistics?

If your using Martial Arts, then that's melee. You'd want to activate Hyper dodge for ballistic defense. Hopefully that answers your question, as your phrasing is a little confusing.

The defence that counts is determined by what your opponent is using. If the are using guns then ballistic defence.

how about when I use a gun in CC, that ive set at the CC hotbar button's drop down menu, is this melee or ballistic attack, from my part? if its ballistic, and my enemy use his fist, than in this situation I actually use my melee defense together with my ballistic attack at  the same time in the same CC fight? this would sound a bit strange, or is it only me?

I think it's only you.  See if this helps...  When you're in close combat, you've got damage/accuracy for attack and you've got defense/resistence for defense.

If you are using Kung Fu, then you are using Melee to attack, so the stats that count to attack are damage/accuracy.  If your opponent is using guns, then you need ballistic defense/resistence;  if he's using hacks, then you need viral defense/resistence; if he's using the spy tree, you need thrown defense/resistence.

You can buff your defenses up with armored/shielded/enhanced clothing.  What your opponent hits you with is what you need to defend against.  What you are using to attack doesn't change how to defend yourself.

well it actually changes as I realised, as different style apply to weapon CC, you cant use kung fu style with gun in your hand, so the combat system actually  makes sense, I just haven't thought of it like that.

However there are other, more important things to discuss.

There has always been a splinter in your brain that troubled you on the edge of your perception,

you know it as well as I do: "The Combat Tactics has you."

First of all, by Combat Tactics(CT) I mean the NUMERICAL VALUE on the Status panel's, Combat sub-tab.

1.

So, "What is the Combat Tactics?" Where does it come from, and based on what it is calculated from?

Is it only based on character level? Is it based on attributes as well?

2.

And what exactly CT influences?

Have you noticed that there are the EXACT SAME values for CC and Free Fire,

regadless of ANY kind of modifiers in game? (apart from the singular tactic booster)

3.

What CT is used for?

Bayamos wrote:

CT essentially boosts accuracies for all 4: viral, thrown, melee, ballistic.

On the status panel, if you have any CT active, add that to your accuracy in (pts) to get your base accuracy,

What do you mean if you have any CT active? Combat Tactics is always active, its always on the Status panel.

What do you mean add that to your accuracy? What do you mean by accuracy here? Where can I see its values?

4.

On the panel Status (P)-> Combat tab: whats the point of the 2 sub tabs at the bottom, 1 for CC and 1 for FF, if their values are always the exact same, regardless of what weapon or style is being used?

5.

On the same sub tabs, Why are there only 3 different rolls like:

Average Combat Tactics Roll,

Average Melee Defence Tactic Roll and

Average Range  Defence Tactic Roll,

insetad of the normal 4 as 2 for Melee(attack/defence) and 2 for Ranged(attack/defence)?

The status panel is mostly legacy code from the original version of the combat system; it doesn't show anything useful or correct. If you want to see what your "points" are, you need to check the Bonus panel, or add up the points on your buffer under your hotbar. Combat Tactics are mostly archaic, and in the present system they are only found from Tactic Boosters.

If you want a reminder not to pay attention to the Status Panel, in your useropts file (if you don't have one, there are guides around), add "AlwaysRoll50 = 1." This won't affect your combat, but the Status Panel will just say 50,50,50,50, reminding you not to pay attention to it.

When I say accuracy, I mean accuracy for your particular class, which is what dictates most of the combat rolls. If you're a Martial Artist, that would be Melee Accuracy. In the Bonuses Tab, you can look for "Melee Accuracy - 80 points" or such, and click the down arrow for a listing of the different sources it comes from. You can also hover over active buffs on your hotbar and add their points, i.e. 90 Melee Accuracy from Kung Fu style, 10 Melee Accuracy from Kung Fu Master title buff, etc. Then, if you have a Tactic Booster active, you add its Combat Tacics value (+5,+10, etc) to that accuracy to determine what your actual base accuracy is. (If you're using guns, remember you usually get a + or - accuracy bonus from the gun itself, also).
