A thank you to the following Vectorians, listed in no order:
Saintdaniel: My first captain in my first faction and my first real substantive interaction in the Matrix. Took me in to the crew Boondock Saints with the faction 'Fight Club' and helped me as much as he could with my first fifty. To freedom to let go and have fun as I was to building a character and persona, we somehow still found a way to a common middle and a mutual respect. Saint's good people - a knucklehead with a soft, nougaty centre.
Yasamuu: He's absolutely right when he says that the game and its inhabitants have taught him a lot about himself. Without any hint of patronisation, I've witnessed a teen go from acting as a teen would in a free realm such as an MMO, all the way to the mature, introspective individual he is today. Great all-round player, always my first port of call when creating a PvP team (when that rarity occurred), and a firm MxO legend. Hall of fame status for you, sir.
Walak: The court jester, only less self-referential and more unintentionally hilarious. Thank you for the tears.
Tonyjaa: From the many, many, many duels in Baldwin to the respectful cease fire we shared in PvP, Tony's the most decent, humble person you'll ever come across on an MMO, and I dare say in real life, too. A figurehead of the Zionist movement, and unofficial number one martial artist for alarmingly pure consistency in a system of button-mashing randomness. He represented himself with a poise and grace, never saught admiration, but greatly deserves it.
PBlade: I think we somehow managed to only once cross paths in MxO (on our mains, anyway) but the respect he commanded transcended proximity. A fine liaison on another server, but his reputation on Vector never once dwindled. An inspiration in terms of commitment and enthusiasm, and a generally superb character. Another hall of famer, and MxO legend.
Madbent: I never really got the opportunity to have a conversation with him beyond the usual polite exchange, but my admiration for his steadfast attitude remained. As solid a Zion leader as you'll ever come across, and head of the finest faction Zion has ever produced (on any server). If only I would've gathered the inclination for a Zion alt, I could undoubtedly say that I had a great time PvP'ing alongside him. In that regard, however, I thoroughly enjoyed going against him.
Angelistico: The name will mean nothing to many of you, but to me he provided an outlet for my many philosophical meanderings, and a reliable as all hel1 back up in PvP. Conducted himself with honour, and was was secretly a fantastic martial artist. I enjoyed knowing him.
ILLFACE: Regardless of the many, many harsh words people have to say against him, he played the game exactly as it should have been played - with relentless fun and enthusiasm. My time in Trinity was some of the best times I had on Vector, and to hear him laugh and joke about something completely different on Vent whilst 'enemies' on MxO were cursing his first born was a real lesson in not taking anything seriously. He was one of the first to get behind me when I switched to machine (from any org), and it was greatly appreciated.
Des/Apos: Yes, you come as a pair. Like ILL, they played the game strictly for fun and kicks. Loved toying back and forth with them whilst Sniper Squad was going on and I was still a Zionist, and loved watching them grow into the baddest and best cypherite faction around. Great guys, and a shame I couldn't have spent some more time with them.
To be continued...
