I just got this game today via D2D, downloaded a 2gb patch and got into character creation, but when I type in my name and lastname and handle, it wont go any further, it doesn't give me any error messages at all and doesn't tell me the name is taken or too short or anything. I tried logging into several different servers and using many different names, including ones I know most likely nobody is using, but I still get the same problem. The accept button goes grey, and I can't even Quit without Ctrl Alt Del because it just sits in that screen. Anyone know why it might be doing this? I'm pretty sure my computer is good enough to play this game, my computer is fairly new and up to date with gaming hardware.

Hello Niya

To get all the info in you need to split it up and reply to yourself.

If you are still having problems could you post the rest of the info that we ask for?

Welcome aboard TSRBradG! 1st stop post necro. SMILEY

Niya... this post: http://forums.station.sony.com/mxo/..._id=12400000037

that is stickied at the top of the tech-help forum explains step-by-step how to post your system information (including how to split it across multiple posts). Please read it carefully and follow the steps.

Most likely your firewall is blocking a port required by the game to communicate with the servers, or you are taking too long to create your character. If you take too long it times out and stops responding. Also the servers may have been down at the time.

A response either way would be nice.

Glad to help. And TSRBradG feel free to hit-up Jeffers, myself superscurge or a few of the other regular posters here for history on issues (As far as I can recall Jeffers and I have been helping in here since not long after launch).

one thing you should try that worked for me is that when you start up the game, on the screen where you type in your account name and password, look for a switch right below the screen where you insert your account password that says "patch: full system check". when you see it, click on it and then after it resets the game, go through everything else as you normally would. (p.s. if you use windows xp, go to firewall and allow matrix online launcher and another app. that should just say matrix.)
