Cannot hear in game sound

I got a new computer a few weeks ago and didn't have any problems with sound with the old computer but with the new computer I can't hear sound in game, I can ONLY hear the music in the game but no sound in cinematics, any figthing sounds, gun shots or anything. Just the music. The sound runs just fine on other games but not on mxo.
What am I doing wrong? How do I get the sound?

Some players have reported this problem can be fixed by installing/updating Windows Media Player 10. Apparently, there are some old codecs that need to be updated. You may also try a codec pack (Google can give you some good ones, but only download from a reputable source) to get this working. All of this is assuming you have the sound options in game all turned ON, of course.

i have figured out wot causes this! (ill take the gold medal plz)

when u press \ and go to options, u can alter the volume of the in-game sounds and music, if u turn the sound right down, obviously it goes quiet (duh) but when u turn it back up again and dont relog some sounds stay quiet and some go back to normal.

i mebbe realise this mebbe isnt ur issues, but mebbe check it out and mebbe tell me that i mebbe right!
