Extended Forum Maintenance: Tuesday, August 1 through Wednesday, August 2

*Yep posting in here is a bug, so Im sure thats one of the things they should be getting fixed in the downtime....with any luck.

Found the answer to that on the Station forum. This downtime is simply to allow others into the torture that is these forums. No fixes mentioned.

Java is great for a many things, but forums ain't one of them. Should have stuck with ASP or PHP.

I guarentee you when the forums come back online, it'll still be this buggy java crap. And 95% of the bugs and annoying things we have now will still be here.

It's because the one thing they did change after they downloaded this software from the JForum site was integrate some sort of unified user database which spans across all the SOE communities. I'm guessing they don't want anything to happen to that database while the new forums are being set up (a sensible precaution, but they really shouldn't need to bring Station to a standstill), so they need to close down all active ones to be sure of no slip-ups.
