It seems strange that you all talk about these various martial forms, and not a single mention of the one Martial Arts form that was indeed perfect. As the stats would go, it would likely receive 100 points in every category... because it took the very best from the best.

It is a spiritual form, whose roots are buried in a man who is still today the single greatest martial artist of all time, even in death. It is a form of the mind, of the body, of the spirit. It takes true mastery of all of these to be able to wield the grace and fluidity, the speed and precision, the raw power of this form.

If you have not guessed by now, that form is Jeet Kune Do. The one form which encompasses the greatest Martial Arts forms, taking the best from each of the forms, and leaving out the weaknesses. If anything, that should be a Martial Arts form to enter the game, regardless of whether everybody would switch immediately to it or not.

Ahhh... the discussion in this thread is about the three martial arts styles available in game (and there pros/cons ingame) not a general discussion about martial arts in the real world.

Tomo Nage is generally considered the most powerful but I find Ki-Charged Foot Sweep reasonably comparable.

Yeah, I thought so. Aikido as a whole is a great tree for MA duels, but I find it hard to use in PvP in place of Kung Fu or Karate as the primary branch. I only know of two people who used it pretty well in PvP on Vector.
