So, I recently brought the SAW Boxset + SAW 4.  Now I have watched all 4 SAW films before, so this is me re-watching them.  Anyways, we all know that Amanda was John's apprentice about 5 months before Adam and Dr. Gordon was in the bathroom Jigsaw puzzle, after surviving her own puzzle.  Remember, Amanda was the one that had the reverse bear trap.  Anyways, in SAW II, we see Amanda again, and this time she's trapped with other people in yet another Jigsaw puzzle.  I have to wonder, is she part of the house puzzle in II, or was the puzzle for her too, because she did say that even though she passed the Reverse Bear Trap, she was being bad (Self harm) so I dunno.

Personally I think it's both.  Because if you remember, you never actually see her cough up blood like the other subjects, and Jigsaw did have to keep Detective's Matthews son safe so that when he played Detective's Matthew game, his son would be in a safe and secured place.  However, I could see how it could be a puzzle for Amanda because she was self harming, and wasn't appreciating the life that she was given.

What do you guys think,  Was Amanda a part of the house puzzle in II or was the puzzle for her?

She was there to protect the kid from the others. So yes, she was in on it the whole time.

I think it's a little bit of both.  :p

She was part of the test for the other people in that she knew what house she was in and she tried to protect the son.  However, it was her test too because I don't think she knew what traps did what and she still had to manage to stay alive and keep the boy alive.  She was just smart enough to play by the rules.

"SAW" was good , something different and new with a good twist at the end, the rest have just been an excuse to come up with horrible ways to kill people.

as for the topic at hand i don't think she was implied to have been involved in the first movie's main "puzzle"

They all seem to have a pretty good underlying story, I just can't bring myself to watch something that gross.

Edit:  That is to say: I think SAW is a pretty cool guy.  Eh kills people grossly and doesn't afraid of anything.

Saw was cool, all the other ones are just too gory for my tastes.

SAW II really wasn't any worse than SAW.  SAW 3 and 4 (and i imagine 5 and 6) are the ones you should stay away from.

I dunno, I actually liked SAW 3 and 4.  SAW 3 because you realized at the end that Amanda was being tested to let someone live, (remember, her test were un-winnable) and plus you got the guy who lost his son and he was tested on his willing-ness to forgive.

SAW 4 is good because you get to see where it all began, and why John became Jigsaw.

Amanda was in on it the entire time, John didn't test her until the 3rd movie. She was the "push" to get them to participate in the game and understand the rules. She had already taken the antidote, she was faking the whole "sick" thing. It shows you at the end of the movie, her slitting her wrist with John standing right next to her. It was part of her con to get the others to believe she was a victim also. In Saw 3 she was tested again because she wasn't actually testing people, she was murdering them. There was no escape route , no right answer, they just died. So he thought if she realized someone elses life depended on wether she lived or not, would she change. So yes, she was in on the house puzzle, she was doing what John could not, because of his condition. (which is why he needed an apprentice in the first place)

Hello imax, I want to play a game...

lol. I like the Saw movies.. It shows you how pressure can make a person stronger or kill them.  It shows if you let your skeletons show karma will get ya. All of the victims in Saw had *blinking* crazy issues as to why they wound up there..so really both sides are taken into consideration. For that fact alone, no other horror movie has been able to pull some thing like this off ...I mean on this one I actually felt sorry for John... he was sick and all and his wife got killed and *poop* . His motives for choosing  his victims, was beautiful.  I was hoping they would all die..I mean isn't that what you want your spouse to do if they cheat on you? anyhow..I'm looking forward to part 5 and 6 and so on..

I was talking about the gross factor.  SAW and SAW II weren't bad, but 3 and 4 were REALLY gross.

I didn't really care for 3 because I thought the plot was boring.  The twist was alright, but not as astounding as 1 and 2's twists.

And 4 was good because you saw where it all began, but, again, the twist was not as big.  Plus, I don't like how they made a new character in the 3rd movie and then made it look like he was there from the beginning.  At least Amanda was truly there from the beginning.

But SAW 1 and 2 were THE BEST horror movies I've ever seen.  They're great.
