So i used to play MxO. I am currently downloading the game again via D2D.

1st Q- What server is RP?

2d Q-What faction is more popular. I personally want to pick Zion.

3rd Q- Is Smg/pistols duelist better or is Kung fu, Akido better. MA or guna basically and whats best out of both.

1. Players on ALL the servers will say that they have healthy RP communities. May be it would be best to generate a character on each and judge for yourself. Syntax is reasonably well established as holding the largest community, but you could also judge that for yourself by looking at the load on each server; at the time of day when you are commonly playing.

2. Hmm... I can only speak for Syntax: The Machines hold the largest number of veteran players within their organisation. I think that's what you are asking. If you are asking what the most popular faction is.. I believe that The Black Code is the largest Zion faction at the moment. Or does that include EPN?

3. As you are levelling (?), you might find MA is an easier LoadOut. Ultimately, many level 50s prefer guns... However, I remain true to MA as do many others. The beauty of MxO is that your character is never limited to one particular skills tree: a stat hack will allow you to restructure your player for a completely different build.

Have fun and welcome back to MxO! SMILEY

Generally Syntax and Recursion host RP. Recursion has been light lately and with the new content lots of people seem to be spending their time farming items in a PvP zon. If you decide on Recursion, hit me up and I'll give you a hand tagging hardlines or nodes.

I have a few lowbies that I am leveling with just pistols (specifically because the accuracy is better than rifles of SMGs). I leveled my main with KF. I remember it being easier as an MA, but you just can't beat the range tactics of guns. Ex: getting an enemy stated before interlocking and damaging. Ingus explained to me that lvl 50 gunners are better statted than lvl 50 MAs, but if you are a RPer, that might not mean much to you. My best advice is to choose which ability tree you'll enjoy more. In that case I would have to say that MA/Aikido has cooler animations than guns. But keep in mind KF is typically the "Accuracy" style, Karate the "Damage" style and Aikido the "Defense" style.

Another thing Guns have that MA doesn't is the Sniper branch. My lvl 23 can't load much of it yet cuz of memory constraints, but Sniping is pretty powerful for a few ranged hits. Again, I have never found much of a RP use for it, but it is rampant in PvP.

As far as lag, the devs fixed a bug that cause NPCs in Downtown to wander. Their paths were causing massive lag. Now Downtown is playable. I have a rather primitive video card and lag is not much of an issue, however I doo freeze for about 10 seconds every now and again, but I would attribute that to my computer.

If you are going to persue RP, then check out algorithmblack.com and watchingeveryoneandeverything.com. Definitive Helpers is a list of veteran players who you can call upon, too.

Good luck and welcome back to the Matrix!

There is one live event per server per weekday.  There's no set order or quota as to which gets which and when.

Vector is hostile - meaning pvp is always-on after you reach a certain level.

On the other servers (including syntax) you can opt in for pvp whenever you want to with /pvp.

Many events are spontaneous - have to be at the right place and time to learn about them...

However, it is not always the case. Once you decide which of the 3 organizations or 2 splinter groups you want to join, stay in touch with your server's org's liasons for information.

For a complete list, see this.

Vector-Hostile is the hostile "Perma PvP" server. Syntax and Recursion have areas that are PvP such as Archives. All servers have Pacification zones which disable the pvp flag. I know the fight club right behind Rogers Way C in Westview is a Pac. zone. I think in Chelsea Downtown, too.

You find out about events by contacting liaisons. In the bottom right of your game is a button with a check. Clicking on it and selecting World Events will open this webpage in game which lists the current liaisons. Add them to your buddy list by typing "/ca name". Talk to them when you see them online or e-mail them. Most of them are good about returning messages, but keep in mind that they are players like you and me so some are unavailable due to real life stuff and a few just don't care. The job they volunteered for is bridging the gap between players and live event content. Still some are selective about who they actually involve which still baffles my mind.

The coolest events depends on the best liaisons. It is my understanding that the liaison arranges events to occur on their server by scheduling them with Rarebit, the developer. If they fail to do so, you and those in your org on your server are SOL.

Learning which liaisons are the best and joining their server and org is a wise method of getting the most out of the game, But liaisons come and go, so making friends is probably the best method overall.

And while just about all events are cool across all orgs and servers, I've had nothing but great experiences for the machine side of things on syntax.

But definately join the organization that most interests you, personally.

by the way, Copying and Pasting in the game goes like this:

Copying = Ctl+Home

Paste = Ctl+Insert

Paste this into your email for easier access.

When adding contacts from other server you must type the server, period, name

Recursion.Vesuveus

Vector-Hostile.Dreami ... Note that "Vector-Hostile" must be capitalized or it won't work.

Enjoy!

Good choice

Both servers i'm sure have their advantages but Vector is my Home. So try both out and go with which one you like or do both.

Vector though feels more like the matrix to me.
