Anyone else pre-ordered the Orange Box on Steam and got the 'beta' of TF2 yet? (I wouldn't call it a real beta; the game's finished. All they're looking for are patch-worthy niggles.)

So far I've just listened to the commentary and faffed about on my own as an engineer, but it's looking groooooovy. SMILEY<img src=" />

Edit: Thread now covers all games in The Orange Box.

I pre-ordered it, but steam decided to play up... so I unistalled it et cetra, and upon reinstalling it I find out the Uni seems to be blocking the ports steam needs to download games :/

Guess it may be a 6hour trip home at the weekend, to download it then take it back to Uni :/

But watching the trailers et cetra, it looks bloody god like.

Make sure you put Steam back into offline mode before you go back to uni. That's the one thing I hate about Steam: if it thinks it can download an update, it tries and puts the whole game out of commission even if it fails to download the update.

This game is truly fanatastic with STEAM Community stats and that, Gotta love spies FTW

And the best part is when you die and see your body part it's like

"Here is your torso next to the rocket launcher" Haha Classic

Mere hours remain!

What's everyone gonna play first? I'm tempted by Portal. I know Episode 2's gonna be awesome, but it's more of the same, whereas Portal's something new.

Pity I've got to go into town for a few hours, right as the games unlock. Grr...

GORDAN-GASM!!!   I really dunno what I'll play 1st,  I've tried the teamfortress open beta, and its cool, but havent really gotten into it so much yet. Think I need to play with a smaller group instead of like 40 like I was before. But I gotta say I think I'll be glued to EP2, I might take a break if it gets to scary and play some portal, but man, I cant wait to pick up that crowbar again.

MERE HOURS!!!!!

Just a few hours of collage, then i can hop on a bus home and start playing SMILEY

I think im gonna start off with HL2:Ep2 as its the longer of the 2 games, might break it up with a few hours of portal.

This morning befor work EP2 was about 94% done downloading, butportal was done, so I checked it out.   Not only is the game funny and fun, but the textures while simple, are absolutly BEWAUTIFUL.  Very visualy pleaseing.  SMILEY

And it's worth it! It's short, but Portal is absolutely awesome. I won't spoil it, but let's just say that the second half is nothing you could have expected.

This is gonna sound odd until you see it for yourself, but the credits sequence is the best the world has ever seen.

Next up: Episode 2!

wow   lol  I wanna play through my lunch.....       delima....   food for nutriotion? or portal for brief entertainment befor work.....

it is a pickle  no doubt about it.

{EDIT}

Well I've played the 1st few minutes on EP2 on my luch and im already blown away. Valve keeps doing it again. There are so many small elements that make the game so great and so diffrent from the other too. The type of stuff you never think about but when you see it you say to yourself "well thats just brillant"  The textures are much more crisp if on very high setting, but youll need a beefy system, mine ist to shappy and it take a slight framerate hit but not to drastic.

Plus the characters, voice acting, motion capture body and facial, and the story is just unparelled. AND IVE ONLY PLAYED A FEW MINUTES OF IT!!!! lol my god I cant wait to get off work

Im gonna get this friggin thing for my ps3 also  lol.   44" of HD is gonna be amazing.  Halo eat your heart out.

Also I thought I'd share one last cool thing. A picture I found that gave me goosebump. Just down right creepy.

As if one of him wasnt creepy enough.
