The Path Of Neo

Not entirely sure if this is the right place to discuss but if a mod wants to move it feel free...

This year, Shiny and Atari plan to release Path Of Neo, the first Matrix game where you can actually play as Neo - from the moment he gets the cell phone in the package from Morpheus until the final battle against Smith in the rain you're able to play as The One. However, the game promises NEW storylines/paths and sides to the Matrix story with brand new content from the Wachowski's depending on how you play the game - you may win battles that Neo failed and vice versa, and apparently it will change the storyline!

-So, I'd like to ask , firstly - do people think they'll be able to pull it off and secondly, what direction WILL the Wachoskis take the stories etc depending on changes the player would make (basically, your What If? scenarios)

Well I, for
one, am really looking forward to this game. And about the
'what-ifs'....i'd like to maybe do everything opposite...like go to the
Source and see what happens....or not go to the 'machine city' and stay
and fight in Zion...if thats possible at all...pretty much just go in a
completely different direction.

game looks sweet. From wha ive heard the combat system is good, the story is well we all know but it will be interesting to see how they story does change should you deside to go ahead and climb up the buildign insted of going and getting caught. So its looking to be good. mind you theres no chance in hell it will be as good as halo or the FF series but fromt he looks of things I will be at my local EB games when it comes out.

Agreed, it does look totally sweet. The chance to relive the Neo vs.
Smiths (Debir Court) scene? Count me in. Also, I want to see what the
"new ending to the franchise" is when you beat the game...

Sorry, but I can't bring myself to be massively excited about a rehash game (despite the additions they'll make). If I wanted to "relive the Burly Brawl" then I'd watch Reloaded.

In fact, you can't truly relive any of scenes from the movies. Even if you could perform the exact moves at the exact times as in the scenes in question, you'd still have the NPCs running around doing what they please.

I read somewhere that it has more information about Seraph. I hope it's true, I'm curious to learn more about his history. He probably used to work for the Merovingian I think, and from Enter The Matrix, he feels forever indebted to the Oracle for something.

Different scenerios sound interesting. It might not be what actually happened, but it will teach more about the Matrix by showing what would have.

Also, I hope it's really really long (I like long games).

I hope it gives you the choice with the two doors in the source. I want
to check out the door on the right and what happens if Neo had taken it.

What would happen if Neo fought Seraph and was defeated? Would the Burly Brawl ever happen?

Should be a good interesting game.

Not only is it happening, but IGN had a hands on released yesterday. Very good read and very hopefull

I heard it is a button masher, I am not a button masher. . . this is
why I don't play games like mortal kombat or any other fighting game, I
just don't have the hand coordnation for that. . . Though it seems
cool, I'd much rather spend my money on Fable for the PC when it
comes out.

Though the what-ifs seem cool, like what if neo did help agent smith in the begining of the game. Kinda cool to think about.

Thanks for the link FAOrien, it looks to be really interesting and good, so can't wait to see it when it comes out. Intrigued as well to see what the surprise ending is.

My old PS2 broke and I dont have the cash to get a new one I can only
hope they port it over to the PC like they did for Enter the Matrix (oh
I cringe at that name)
