Deep Space 9: "To bodly stay put and watch a wormhole" As someone had mentioned previously, I would have to agree that Wrath of Khan was one of the better moments in the Star Trek storyline. Havin' a Star Trek movie that doesn't revolve around the Enterprise isn't a bad idea, seein' as Next Gen pretty much put it out there that Riker eventually captains the ship. You'd have to either create a story that takes place after his command or during. I thought he was great as a first officer, but does anyone wanna watch a Capt. Riker movie? As far as Star Trek: Enterprise, I think T'Pol was a great marketing tool to keep people (males between the ages of 15 - 35) interested in the show. If she had a twin, the show may have survived. heh heh
I realize this is an old post but I had to correct you because im such an *censord* trekkie and it bothered me. Riker does not eventually command the enterprise, he eventually commands the Titan, a brand new Prometheus class ship.
As for the new trailer.... my opinions are still /meh. It still feels like Abrams is slowly killing a helpless old man that just wants tobe left alone by trying to dress him up in abercrombie&finch clothes and jamming an ipod down his throat.

And I'm going to have to out-trekkie you this once imax. The USS Titan is actually a Luna class starship, not a Prometheus class. I have all the Titan books >.>
I'm still cautiously optimistic about the movie (just watched the bootleg in previous page), I'm glad they kept the same Red Alert sound used before in TNG and afterwards.
I have to admit I have never liked Star Trek but after having like 2 pilsner glasses full of gin and tonic given the fact that they were firesaling alcohol with the closing and a few jager shots I found the entire thing serene.
Im looking forward to this movie if nothing else to see something new tried with the series. Im sick of Star Wars rehashes and Trek always seemed a little more intelectual.

Kinda excited about this news although i'm not surprised either http://www.comingsoon.net/news/star...ws.php?id=51228 Majell baret will reprise her role in the films. for those who don't know she plays the voice of the ships computer mainly from The next generation series and the other series i don't remember her voice was on the Original series.

Nope, she didnt do the voice on TOS. The voice in that show was VERY robitic mono tone and silly sounding for today's standards. However I do belive she played one of the doctors in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, or as I like to call it...
Star Trek I<The Search for the Giant Death Cloud of Doom>
Yeah, the big cloud thing was big and took waaaay too long to get to the middle of. But the reveal of VOYAGER 6 was neat I thought. Didn't they explore in a book that the race that ran into VGER was actually the early Borg? I'd heard that somewhere.
And thank goodness she's doing the voice of the computer. She's the staple voice of TNG, DS9, Voyager, and the last 4 movies, I would've killed Abrams if he'd gotten some other voice.
Sorry for the double post, but I think this deserves it

Majel Barrett was Gene Roddenberry's girlfriend and later wife during the original series. Not only did she do the mechanical computer voice, but she also starred as the first "Number One" in the pilot episode, The Cage. She is best known as Nurse Christine Chapel during the regular seasons, and later as Deanna Troi's mother, Lwaxana.
Having reprised her role as the computer voice for the USS Defiant in the Enterprise episode "In a Mirror, Darkly", she is the only actor to have appeared in all six tv series.
Had Abrams not had Barrett as the computer voice, it's likely this movie never would have been made, as she's the one in charge of Roddenberry's estate. Had Paramount gone through with it anyway, though, Abrams probably would've been assassinated by some crazed fan for allowing it.

I liked First Contact, but the Undiscovered Country wasn't all that in my opinion. By far, my favorites in the series have to be The Wrath of Kahn, The Search For Spock, The Voyage Home, and Generations.
HD Trailers are now up

I cannot wait for this movie.
