Pure aikido GM.

Im getting the hang of it and love it.

Only prob is the overpowerd trees ( not as overpowerd as hacker in cr1.0 but still).

Dang, this is an OLD thread.

Nowadays.. I tend to load Duelist.. with other stuff.  About the only loadout I can seem to do any good with when I'm by myself and I have to be ready for anything.  Gotta love being able to hold your own against interlock AND ranged attackers.

In CR1 I was very big on MA, I used to run around at level 42 and own noob level 50 MAs (Bay's nasty combo ftw).. I never actually coded Aikido GM for CR1 though, which used to be the cornerstone of my favorite build.

When CR2 came out, I was quite annoyed with what had been done concerning archetype attribute points - perception was no longer useful for me. So, given that everyone I saw was MA or Duelist, Oranos and I went Hacker. It was quite fun - I'll be the first to admit that it was overpowered at the time, but compounded with the fact that people weren't loading viral resistance because they saw hacker as dead, I was able to rack up hundreds of CQ per day using AOE. After Hacker's subsequent meganerf, which rendered the Network Attacker tree rather worthless, Howitzer ineffective, and Ballista cumbersome to use, I statted to MA for a brief period... but MA in this system just doesn't seem to have much in combat with the old system. Sure the abilities are the same, but the feel is gone.

I just recently went gunman, and I'm playing with some tricky little hybrid loadouts; I'm quite enjoying myself.

I find that one of the best ways to keep this game from getting old is to restat and completely change builds once in a while - it really makes combat seem fresh and new again.

For chasing people down, Aikido

For holding a defensive position, Utility Master

For me vs. armada of reds, Sniper

RP fighting, Utility Master

Best animations, Bash (UM), Counter Throw (Aikido), Low Blow (UM), choke&smack finishing move (any self-defense-esque style)

Right now I'm using Duelist with Sniper and some Rifleman abilities. Works terrific in and outside interlock. And I have specials for all the states that can be caused inside interlock.

h4x, that's mah load =p.  I think a lot of people are running some variations of this lately.  On Kashira I've been running full sniper tree, basically the whole left side of rifleman, and down a ways into duelist for interlock situations.

Spindraft's currently been running knife chucker, full tree except for MKT, and down to combat enhancement.  Ends up with a quite higher accuracy, he doesn't miss much on power attacks and a miss is exteremly rare on speed.

I've only recently returned amidst cr2 after a bit of a break, and a departing player was kind enough to give me her trees (I gave mine away last time i left =/), so i've been playing around w/ them a bit, but these two setups are my favorite so far.

Tried Fu-rate for a while too, fun for a bit but i dunno, i just get bored with doing constant interlock.

Gunman. I hate the class in its entirety but it's soooooo adaptable. T_T This is the only class that I can mix and match to meet any threat. Even MKT's. The damage potential is obscene as well. They use less IS than MA, are devistating in interlock and out, host a plethora of overpowered moves...and alot of people don't know how to use them correctly. They get old after awhile but it's by far the most powerful tree for solo acts. Maybe a little too powerful...

it was SMG but I got alot of complaints from ppl on vector after they died saying FAR is overpowered, since then I've only loaded SMG upto the lvl 33 ability and have been using duelist alot more, they don't have anything to moan about when they die now SMILEY
