Beats me. How high do they go now?

The highest i've seen is lvl 40 armored..It was an amazing white/black!

They go to 50:

Sorry to bring this back up but I think Vector is lacking in the clothes department (from what I've seen on Recursion and Syntax) it's like some clothes simply doesn't drop. Is there a way to check that Rare? I've never in my two years of play seen a level 50 Gi on Vector. *shrug*

Well, so long as Vector, Syntax, and Recursion are running the same version of the game, I'm pretty sure the drop rates and whatnot are al teh same, the only thing that could be different is that either no one's gotten the luck of the draw on Vector yet, or some people have, and they're just not sharing.

Actually there is a pare of unique gloves that only drop on Vector, so it may have bugged with other clothing and stop those dropping, but my money is on there being fewer people and no sharing between orgs.

Hmm... perhaps it'd be best two have to different versions of the female gis - with and without pants?

Actually, that approach could work well for other items that were altered, like the sector and blockers sunglasses...

They don't drop anymore, some players just have them in inventory or code archives or something from when they were given out only on that server. All loot drops have been the same between all servers for a long time now.

Possible but not practical due to the limited bits we have to describe our clothing types; there are I think 32 different model types I can define for female shirts, for instance; gis currently take up one of those 32 slots; having them in pants and pantsless version would take two slots; eventually the available slots will all be taken, so I have to be careful about how I spend them.

I realize pantsless gis have certain non-combat uses, but there are plenty of other options for that sort of thing--our ridiculously revealing mini-skirts spring to mind. I think we'll get much more mileage out of gis if players can actually fight in them in public; we do, after all, have 120 Armored/Shielded versions of the female gi alone, going all the way up to level 50 (10 color variants, both in Armored and Shielded versions, at level 50). If players haven't seen these much I tend to think it's because nobody was interested in using them for high level combat before because they didn't look the part, although I suppose the mangled colors could have had something to do with that, too.

Another way to put it is: hypothetically speaking, if I was considering making high-level, high-buff MA gear, gis would be an obvious choice as the clothing type to go with--except that I would have had serious reservations about making uber gear that would have required female RSIs to be fighting without pants on.

Ideally gis would have been designed so that the gi coats and pants could be worn separately, and combined with other clothing, but the models don't work that way: the coat overlaps in really icky ways with other pants--that was the first thing I tried. One additional nice thing about the pants version is that it doesn't deform the upper thigh (don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about :p).

Yeah they go to 50 on Vector too. I have a shielded one.

Precisely, it still strikes as strange that it was a Woman in charge of creating the clothing, or at least designing it. I understand that the main demographic of the game in regards to player's gender is male, but it seems to me personally that many items seem to pander to what the boys and their hormones would like to see. Don't get me wrong, having a nice sexy outfit for parties is great, but unless it's a pyjama party or a MA themed party, personally I wouldn't wear a Gi to one.

I think Rarebit is right, level 50 MA's don't wear them probably due to either lack of enhanced versions at lvl 50, the ugliness of the colouring or that they really don't look like something a self respecting female MA would wear. For me it's the latter, given a choice between two items, a shirt or Gi with the same buffs, I'd choose the shirt. It's bad enough that the most used clothing item for female gunners is a white, so very, very short skirt.

What I wouldn't give for a long slinky skirt...

I'm with ZaneZavin and Asna on this one, the Gis as they are look awesome, yes it is unfortunate that the origional creator didn't think underwear was needed on them but putting pants on them comes across pretty prude SMILEY

Mabey I am biased as I am a dude (shock horror) but on my female alt, I never wear the mini-skirts but I always have a White/Black Gi in my invent which I usually wear indoors as anyone walking around with a Gi on looks out of place anyway.

Oh I don't know, closing the top up to be less revealing as well as adding pants would come across as prude. I just think that adding pants would be a lot more realistic not excessively modest...

It's pretty obvious where the inspiration for the pantless ladies gi came from, but we all know that underwear was included in the Final Flight of the Osiris version.  hehe

Well, I cast my vote for the pantless version simply because, as I said before, we already have the tunic and pant sets that are reasonably close in appearance to the GI w/pants (and provide that more "prudish" less cleavage look Vinia wants hehe).

Also, as for MA buffed high level clothes... I know gi's fit that stereotype well, but I can't help but not want to see that done.  I do want well buffed MA gear, but I don't really want to see everyone with MA loaded running around in a gi, female or male.
