ARGH forums!

anyway... is it normal that it's taking 5 to 10 tries to break evade sheilds?  i understand you must use a tactic with high force combat (ex. grab 100% force combat), but it's still taking quite a few tries to break evades.

I was in an MA duel and it took 7 grab tactics interlock attempts before their sheild broke.  Does that mean they have 700% evade combat?

Thanks.

Since it's just been introduced (the new evade, I mean), I imagine it requires a good deal of tweaking.  So, if I had to guess (guess being the operative word here, as I don't experiment with hackers much), I would say no, it's not normal for a shield to require 7 grabs to break - however, if I remember the doc correctly, your stats also play a role, and it could simply be that you have a very low force combat attribute whereas the defender had a very high evade combat attribute.  Now, what constitutes a low force combat attribute and what constitutes a high evade combat attribute I've yet to determine, but I imagine I'll figure it out eventually.

it was with full focus (30 stat points) which is *supposed* to increase force-combat, and using grab tactic tertiary (100% force combat) per attempt.

Here's one:

My level: 50
I was using Compel Close Combat (20% Force Combat I believe) against a two chevron level 51 NPC on a mission.  It must have taken about 15 grab tactics to break his shield. :smileysurprised:

personally i like the new system.

now a MA should have a fairly weak shield and should break after one hit from another MA but all those trees that work better out of combat I.E. guns, spy, and hacker, should have a fairly high shield and it should take a MA at least 2 trys with the max force combat he can get to break the sheild of an average hacker shield.  but then if you buff a hacker with the evede combat buffs if should take like 5 or so.

now that its a contested withdrawl, a patcher should be able to stay out of interlock vs 2 or 3 opponents long enough to heal/buff a freindly with 2 or 3 abilitys and get away without his shield being broke

I agree that the shield should take mor than 1 hit to break, however, taking 8+ hits before breaking is rediculous. There are now "no shield" MA duels going on because if they shields stay up the fight will usually end before they are able to IL eachother.

H4TE, your not quitting the game!

I also noticed that the shield was a bit to hefty. imagine the havok an assassin get wreak of he can get a few bulldogs in before he's event able to be interlocked. lol fun time.s
