I'm rather new to MxO, so I have this kind of question: is there a way to know where and when the upcoming events (I mean plot events, not the celebrations, tournaments etc) will take place? Yesterday I participated in my first live event rather by chance, and I'd like to know if it can be more... euh... regular. SMILEY

Get in contact with your organisations Liaisons. They will inform you when upcoming events are happening for your org.

Sorry to ask such a "newbie" question, but how do I contact the Liaisons?

Check the "World Events" Page, its down the bottom right of your hotbar, there it lists each org and each server match your server to your org and you'll see the names of the characters you need to contact. SMILEY

On your HUD, there's a button in the lower right corner, press that and choose "World Events".

There's a list of the current Liaisons, on each server, and each org.

A good idea is to add them to your buddy list, so that you can see when they become online.
Do that with /friend Soluma for example. Then when they get online, send a tell with /t name command.

Is it just me or is this a stupid way to "announce" live events?  Or am I missing something about these liasons?  Do I really have to happen to be online when they come online just so I can be one of the lucky ones to participate in an event?  Wouldn't it make sense to announce an upcoming event on the Live Events board a few days before it happens so people can plan to be there?  I was online quite a bit on the 6th, but still managed to miss out on helping Ghost.  If I had known the event was going to happen, I would have made plans to be online at that time. I did manage to take part in the event the other day when we fought the blackwoods in debir court.  The only reason I knew it was going to happen is because my faction leader got an email from a liason and he forwarded it to me.  So please tell me if I'm missing something really simple, because there's gotta be a better way to be informed about these live events.

Yeah i have to admit it does seem stupid and is annoyin. Like last week, the devs decided to have an event about 2-3 hours earlier from when they are suppose to kick off. In GMT events normally kick off between 10 - 1, this 1 started at 8ish i think SMILEY Because they normally start later i decided to have some peeps round for a smoke. Needless to say, when i logged on at 10 i had just missed the event SMILEY

But if thought about, if every1 was to get contacted, more reds would know (which ain't a bad thing SMILEY) but also u'd have more freequent server hoppin and rep changing.

If you contact them they will, most likely, add you to a mailing list. Then, say an event is planned for Wednesday for EPN on Vector (saying you are an EPN opperative), then they will email a few days in advance telling you when the event will take place.

The problem with posting them on the live events page is that you will end up with Mervs flooding Machine events, EPN flooding Cyph events, ect. They try to keep them confidential and for the people who are into the RP portion of the game and who are committed to the side they have chose.
