It's up to you, but I preferred dual handguns. I was better able to hit more accurately.

The only way to tell which to choose is to try them out yourself. It really depends on the build.

Now, if you want both guns and MA for interlock, then I would say go for Duelist. You can pull off some great combos without abilities in different trees sharing cooldown timers.
If you want to use guns for freefire to render your opponent useless and then interlock them with MA, then I'd say either go for SMGs or rifleman. They both have some great root, enrage, stun and slow-down moves between them.

Since they changed the rooting effect, SMG's are even crappier than they were before which blows because the claymors are awsome. In the whole SMG tree, there isnt one move that causes stun or powerless, just enraged, rooted, and dazed. So to use SMG's for duels you'd have to mix it with something else like kung fu wich you can use to place alot of negative effects on who ever your fighting, so use the kung fu to get them powerless and blinded and then start using the burst attacks to try to get them dazed so you can use the full auto redux to do a mass ammount of damage. As for sniper/rifleman tree's, they're awsome for pvp, but not for dueling. A duel is about getting in and out of interlock with who your fighting and tearing it up, pvp is about the ranged attacks, knives/rifles/hackers/etc... My personal recomendation is to go down the duelist tree, Pistol Aerial causes stun every time and has 40% chance of causing powerless, Pistol Barrage has a 40% chance of causing powerless and can be used outside of interlock so you have a chance of getting them powerless before you even get them in interlock. And then later on when you go down to the second half of the duelist tree you can run great combo's with the Duel Pistol Execution.

I have a kung fu/gunslinger loadout but to be honest it depends wat u gonna do because if yer attributes have been spent on percep then I wouldn't do that but have on combat aura and combat enhancement because with my lvl 50 I get an average roll of 295 which I'm glad to say no lvl 50 GM has beaten me with.

But if u must I recommend either kung fu or and scattershot or aikido and gunslinger because then you ca do some long term enragement. But it's all up to you so just experiment with it until you find a nice combo

i've done both pistols/fu and smg/fu.  pistols have an advantage of generally rolling higher etc.  however, as far as move that cause states and moves that require states smg/fu is a much better load.  at higher level some of the smg moves cause dazed 100% of the time........which can give you nice combos given that many fu moves require dazed.  also the fact that smg is usually supported most by burst tactic (blue - which again causes dazed)  where pistols is supported by retaliate tactics (green - causes off balance which isn't much benefit on the fu side).

Basically, the pistol tree is generally better than smg compared 1 to 1.  however if you're simply looking for something as a "support" tree for fu to give you some good combo's........smg is the best gun tree to couple with fu.
