Ah....no. No to all of that, because 1) this is set up as rp/pvp and as such, is just a fun way to interact with each other and move our stories along. Ronin isn't 'dealing' with mervs, they received intel from someone else, in an rp fashion. Perhaps I goofed by not putting the /ooc in front of the 'talk to Ronin' bit, but I figured people could figure that out....this is meant for all orgs, ya know? But since a nice healthy dose of pvp is fun, there have to be reasons for it. If you don't like that this was planned between different groups to bring inter-organisational rp into play, why are you even reading this thread? Isn't that what the meetings were all about?

Also, 2) I am right on with the times, since U.S. has done with their dsl bit, and Europe hasn't. Trust me. Europe doesn't change til this Sunday.

I took it as it read, and that happened to be the wrong way on this occasion.  No harm no foul.

If you don't like that this was planned between different groups to bring inter-organisational rp into play...

At no point did I so much as imply that I opposed organizational rp.  I was merely questioning the level of involvement of a faction, which has since been cleared up.

...why are you even reading this thread?

Your random hostility is most unwelcome.  (It's possible that I'm also taking this the wrong way, if so then again no worries)

I am right on with the times, since U.S. has done with their dsl bit, and Europe hasn't.

Ah of course, my mistake.  I had forgotten for a moment that the US went early this year.

I don't wish to get into a public debate over semantics, so if anyone is tempted to chime in with flame (this is Vector, disclaimers such as this are seemingly necessary of late) feel free to PM me, but I implore you to keep it out of this thread.

No random hostility, it was just a response to what you'd said. I'm glad it was a misunderstanding, but yeah you were taking my comment wrong again. LOL I was genuinely confused, because I thought planned rp/pvp was what this thread was about, and it seemed like you were saying the opposite. I figured that anyone who thought that way wouldn't be interested in this kind of thing at all.

Good attempt tonight, I personally, even though present from the beginning through to the end felt very much in the dark when it came to the objectives of the event... We were to collect bits, Code Bits? Fair enough, so my team rushes into the hideout and starts killing the NPCs, farming for code bits. (As did everyone else) I find out there's a Merovingian outpost and a Machine Outpost, and the idea is to run in, either killing the Reds or Sneaking in Inflitration style, grabbing as many bits as possible and making it to a drop off point within' an hour time limit without dying and loosing the frags.

It's a great idea, really is, it's just a shame that half of those that spent thier time in that hideout didn't figure the above out untill after the event was over. For anyone planning an RP/PVP event in the future, IMO letting people know exactly what they're in for whilst keeping things in tone and staying in character (Yes, I know it's harder than it looks on paper) will be key, as will keeping the numbers balanced.

Anyway, I thaught it was a decent change from the normal Mara Central PvP. In the end I just found myself Hyper-Sprinting through the floors of the hideout over and over, attacking any Toaster that I could find... And being chased through 3 floors with a stampede of Mechs on my tail. Lol.

Props to all that put in the work to make this happen.

I too felt a little in the dark as to the objectives, and of course at the end the rest of RR and I had to leave for a Live Event on Recursion.  I hope all turned out well from this event and I look forward to more in the future.

Yeah, apologies on the disarray at the beginning of it (which in turn led to the difficulties you're talking about). There were problems with people supposed to be on that weren't, and...well, other things that would bore you so I won't talk about them SMILEY . Still, yeah that part of it could have been handled better.

Just to clarify:

There were code bits strewn all over the floor of the hideout, had nothing to do with the npc's (other than that was another way to get some). The reason the bits were needed was because when Ronin attacked me, my incriminating data on the machines was fragmented, and came down all over the place in the hideout - there were merv and mech ambushes set up inside (was supposed to be a zion one too but ah well), who were there to fight and get code bits from ( 'loot' ) if you managed to beat them. And of course there was the odd guy at the end, selling bits for information...anyway. Heh, just tired of the same old possibilities that the players wind up using for events - this at least seemed different. Maybe too different? SMILEY

As for what happens after...we have Galador working on reintegrating the data he collected, hopefully it will be salvageable. We'll see what comes of it.

That actually sounds like a very novel idea for an event, and I wished I'd been able to play a larger role.  However, duty called on Recursion and that was something I couldn't miss.

Thanks for the event Demoana, and like I told you before, whenever too many ppl are involved its hard to have everyone on the same page (*thinks of a way to use the system broadcast messages for player events)  But when we planned for this a few weeks ago, the part that intrigued me the most was the code bit trails left around the hideout for ppl to find and collect, a novel idea indeed.  Until we have luggables working, this is the next best thing to it, and just a shame that most ppl didnt realize thats where the code bits were....(except for 2 individuals who collected over 150 of them)

Its nice to see the players interact and do something different for a change....looks like the Vector RPvP movement is off to a great start and its only going to get better.

I thought that event last night was pretty nifty and Dem did a good job in getting it organised considering some people couldn't make it at the last minute. It's hard organising an event like that involving everyone and trying to keep everyone up to date on whats happening. The code bit collection was class, i havent seen anyone else think of anything like that so hats of to ya dem on that. SMILEY

Was a good night overall, took all of us out of mara c and out into a hideout for some pvp and fun which was a pleasant change. SMILEY

Nice event really was!!! Just a tad sad that half of us didn't know what was going on...but heh...we did organize something in the end! Kudos on the event. Next time perhaps a briefing for each org? Perhaps on Email if certain programs isn't allowed? Mastershadow? Heals? Rez? SMILEY All in all fun and new approaches to the only semi-luggable items in game SMILEY

Although I will be two low of a lvl to participate, I think this is a great idea for the community.  I've been watching the boards over the past yr, since I left.  This, I would hope.  Will inspire, if not urge those who once ran on Vector to return once again.
