As amusing as this argument may be, it isn't going anywhere. I am determined to fix the Vista issues, because like it or not, where Microsoft's OSs go is where a large portion of potential customers go, and as it is now, as soon as someone finds the "wrong" type of shiny new clothing for their character, the game becomes unplayable for them unless they have the perseverence to figure out how to avoid it--and they shouldn't have to do that.

how about the people who joined this game thinking they were going to get a continuing interactive story. should they have to put up with the fact that there isnt any.  As much as I love farming and I do but not at the cost of losing the interactive story line so far the only live event character ive seen for zion since the new approach was niobe who didnt have a clue what was going on.

so thats an update in 8 weeks since the last does that mean we get a 33.3% discount off my next months subscription due to as you said dev slacking off time.

You'd have to ask Customer Service about that. I suspect the answer is "No." Let me know what they say if you ask them, though.

so its 150% more work then wow sucker for punishment or what or just put boxers in when maves happy everyones happy

That sounds like an awesome idea. Adding the Boxers part that is.

Most of the gamers playing these days are on Vista. Face it.  And would you want to start and continue playing a game that looks like MxO does on Vista?  What if L4D, CoD, and even the almighty WoW glitched out like MxO does? Would you stick with it?

No, you wouldn't.

Rarebit has to divide his time because he's all we've got, and right now his priority is trying to fix this. From the looks of it Windows 7 has the same graphical glitches, so he's not robbing us of our content, just delaying it because we have to look ahead and plan on people using the new OS's.

If that would have happened to ANY of those games, that problem would have been fixed in a week, tops. Why? Because all those games have more than one full time developer on staff. Not to mention, WoW is Blizzard's flagship MMO. It's going to be resolved. Blizzard CARES about WoW. Can SOE honestly say the same about MxO? We were bought as part of a deal for gaining rights to DCU.

I am willing to bet $100 Dollars American if EQ2 had the glitches MxO had, they would be fixed in 1-2 weeks tops.

MxO has been and always will be SOE's Redheaded Stepchild. Period. Just when we thought we couldn't go any lower, SOE proves us wrong.

I agree 100%.  WoW, EQ2, all of those would have poured all available resources in to fix the glitches.  That's why I agreed with Rare's line of thinking in reference to the Vista glitches.  They should've been fixed when Vista came out, but we all know we don't have the resources and SOE as a company just doesn't care.  The Agency and DC Universe are where it's at, didn't you know?

At the end of the day Rare's only 1 man.  That's why I'm ok with sitting on content while this stuff gets fixed.

I'm all for the Vista fixes, afterall, it'll probably fix Windows 7's issues too since they work on the same codebase.

And Windows 7 rules so far so huzzah =P

Oh god this. Of all the modern forum systems I've run into, the SOE forums are by far the most frustrating and user unfriendly. Dev trackers might take you the correct dev post, or they might just put you randomly somewhere in the thread. A thread might have 3 pages, but it won't show it from the topic listing until it hits about 5 pages and has been there for a few days. The go to newest post button will often send you to the first post in that thread, even if you've been in that topic 10 times and the first post is about a week old.

no image retrievals, no dev screen shots other than the vista bug shots, no org meetings this month, patch delayed by 2 weeks given its because of xmas but yeah ok.  all the usual things that show what rarebit is working on to keep us all subscibing every month. This month there has been nothing.

Sheesh cut the guy some slack!  I'm one of the new approaches harshest critics, but you do have to factor in the limited resources and time lost during the Holidays.  Besides, we had delays last time this year because of that.  Your posts make Baby Jesus cry.

I'm not saying that I'm upset about the lack of image retrieval this month or the lack of an update or whatever. Hell, Rarebit is only one man. And that's the problem. This entire game's future content (if such a word can be applied) is all dependant on one man, which is absolute bull.

At the same time, he deserves a break. Honestly, who here would be happy to work on Christmas/Hanukhah(sp)/New Years? Not a dammn person. He's human, people. Give him a break.

But only for this instance. This doesn't mean that Rarebit can be allowed to lollygag(yeah I said it) and expect us to take that. That's SOE's fault for leaving all this responsibilty on one man.

Rarebit, can I ask you an honest question? Have you ever complained at ALL about the lack of support you get from SOE? Anything at all? Can you even complain? At the rate this game is going, will it even last another year?

That's good to hear. In Vista, Windows Explorer (!) has been crashing on me two to three times a day. Apparently having more than two windows open simultaneously isn't supported. =p

He signed an NDA with Sony Corporation, so if he badmouths SOE a microchip-enabled ampule they implanted subdermally will release a concentrated neurotoxin which results in a horribly excruciating, very messy death within a matter of minutes.  So, the answer is No.
