I'd just like to say a big thanks to all the LESIG people.

Bloodlust was the main one I spent time with. I used to have more fun spying on the Machine LE's with him than doing the Merv ones.

I used to have a blast trying to break SIMLO's programming too SMILEY

In the beginnings of LESIG after we had liaisons for awhile, forum moderators (other players) were still allowed inside the LESIG forum. This resulted in several leaks. One horrible moderator, Sneaker, started a mini-flamewar in the LESIG forum because he thought some liaisons were RPing "too hard" against his faction, The Collective. After I put him in his place, he tried to "moderate" me and after the discovery of more leaks, moderators were no longer allowed to view the LESIG forum.

Really? That's what you remember? Foxxdie, you always were a little behind the times, and you always took things a little too personal.

Though this was quite a few years ago, what I remember is being sick of people bragging about their LESIG status, and not being able to keep their mouths shut about it. None of this had anything to do with The Collective, and everything to do with acting like they gave a crap about the storyline and future of MxO. And hey, look where we are now! Interesting, that.

But I don't really need to defend myself - your story already reeks of BS. What exactly does "RPing "too hard" against my faction" even mean? And really, you put me in my place? How? The problem here is that you believe the world revolves around you. As I recall, you weren't a source of any of the leaks, yet somehow you thought it was all about you.

In fact, the only truth to your story is that I indeed started a flamewar (which wasn't particularly mini, I might add), and it indeed resulted in moderators no longer being able to view the LESIG forum.  And I don't regret a single word - I was so sick of leak after leak after leak, as I'm sure many other people were.

End this flim-flammery before it begins.  Don't make me pull out my grand powers of same-post multi-quoting.

Well, as some may know, I played Toluca and Nomatopoeic.

My times in lesig started in a werid way. My account had just ran out by the time rarebit send the invites. I had it in autorenew, but my card was expired so the account bas canceled just for a day :p

When we were to chose which server and org to liaison for, I picked EPN syntax. But then terentia decided to switch characters, and rare asked for an european timezone to switch over to recursion mervs. Since there weren't any other volunteers, I finally took that spot just a couple of hours before rarebit left the office on a Friday. He had to rename the character I created in syntax in order to free the Toluca name (some people even spotted that character in a LE, there are some screenshots of it).

Then, rare published the new liaison list before I could even get a Merovingian tag, it was a bit scared that someone could spot me. Luckily, rare was quick enough to boost me to max rep, so it went smooth SMILEY

After half a year, I got enough money to buy a second account and started my Nomatopoeic project. I got clearance from rare to present in in a live event, and let the players design her RSI. I played both characters for almost a year, doing some events with Noma that attracted a small number of people, but that I think they enjoyed enough for such a bizarre character :p

After a year, my personal situation was very different, and I could not afford to pay two accounts. And my mum lost her job... so I had to cancel Toluca's account. Thus, Noma became my LO character for a couple of months. Note that that also meant that I could not play my main anymore, but I was ok with it (i never really played it a lot after becoming Toluca).

Then, rare announced to LESIG that the storytelling was about to change, and we'd be liaisons no longer, I was sad since I lost my main and only had a lowbie alt (Noma) that would be no liaison. But I managed to convince support to swithc the unused from the Noma account towards the Toluca/Glue one. So I had to hurry and set up a Noma death mini-event (anyway, the way noma died was planed since the beggining).

After the end of Liaisons, I wanted to keep playing toluca and run some side stories I had in mind (Tranque might remember that I started talking about toluca's cousin), but the financial trouble made it impossible for me to keep paying even a single account.

Besides Toluca and Noma, I've been involved playing minor characters in over 30 LE with rare and others lesigs. I've also helped in a few mini-events organized by other lesigs, like dreami in vector and trantra/haigen in syntax. I was also involved in the sentinel, until my financial problems arose.

The biggest handicap in my lesig times was always language. I live in Spain and never had a chance to study English. MxO was my English 101, the few people that knew me since begging remember that I was almost impossible to understand. When I was invited to lesig 2.0, I created a "tex-mex" character, so when I was unsure on how to say something I could always fall back to Spanish SMILEY  I think I managed to communicate mostly okay over the time. Specially since you American people speak really weird (I still love you anyway) :p

The other thing was the timing. Most events I had to organize for rarebit ended at around 5am in the morning for me. We could not start any sooner since Hattah could not attend (he did not attend at most, still, unfortunately). Still, they were a blast to organize.

Almost two years playing Toluca almost daily, I must say that she became my main and Glue is just my alt. It's a shame that real life did not let to continue play her regularly after this last summer. Those days were just the best ones in my whole online life.

@Toluca

Well thank you very much for your talent and your effort. It was quite fun and created many good times.

Including the time you called Hypatia a hooker

Aw, thanks PBlade for putting up with my ridiculousness as Vira.  I had a great time going back and forth with you.

Now if we could only find Escondido.

I got this from MadHatter after I took out Festineve (Called him Festivus) and stole some data back from Zion.

./nonsequeter Big ups for Merrit for everything she ever did.  She was friggin' awesome.  I still don't know who she was.  <3 to her for still using that sig I made.  It was one of the small things I felt I could give back for all the time she put in.

Back to Cyphs, Fen taunted Festivus after the fact.  /legiggle @ "Hymir is in the Matrix."

Thanks to LESIG and to all those who worked hard to support them.

My memory is so terrible. Could you refresh me some incidents or your full name so I can remember. I feel awful that it's slipped my mind.

It's been a-while and mostly came out at Camon C.  Bickering back and forth.  Indeed I did punt you once.  I can't give you any specific times, because I suck at remembering things as well apparently.  I'll try and dig through some of my screenies later.

Who wrote the sentinel, specifically the one with Meretrix's Torgo ad?

The Sentinel issues were a group collaboration, where individuals could volunteer to write specific articles we needed. Then everyone would assist in proof-reading before eventually sending it to Rarebit.

Although Rarebit usually had a mountain of corrections to make before it could go live. Actually, in our defense, we often had a complete Sentinel more than a month before it actually went live, simply because of the Rarebit approval process. It was always very frustrating for us to have it finished and then have to wait as the threads started popping up denouncing that lazy, shiftless LESIG who cant even produce a Sentinel issue every month.

edit: I don't remember whose idea it was to add player's advertisements from the billboard contest.

double edit: haha turns out it was me:
"Another thing I thought of last night. Remember that contest for designing in-game billboards. Well, that didn't really pan out for the players, but those images did become the property of SOE I think. Which means that we could use those advertisements in the Sentinel! I think it would be great if we could adapt those billboard images that players submitted into Sentinel ads. It would save us the time of having to make ads from scratch and it'd be a prestige thing for those players who participated in the contest. Here's the only thread I could find with people's submissions:

Most of them look perfect for a newspaper ad."

The Sentinel, since its return, was a collaborative effort by most of LESIG. Everyone contributed to it in some form or fashion.
