Hey when Neo is talking on the phone at the end of the Matrix, who is he talking to. I've always wondered that.

I thought that he was using the phone solely to be tracked by the machines so he could block them and talk to them, it just kinda made sense.

Well you do see that their is a trace running on the call, whether it be agents or not is not clear but I think it would be. After all, agents are responsible for tracking zionites in the matrix.

I think that message was meant for new redpills to give them insight about the matrix. Thats why someone suggested quite a while ago that message should be played to every new player to the game.

"... I'm going to show them a world.. without you".  This doesn't sound like a message for new redpills.  I think it was just a message to the machines in general, from a line he knew was tapped.

I always had the idea it was a message to "us", to who were watching the movies, to make it sound/look as if the Matrix really excists. Or, I could say to all the bluepills. He's going to show the Machines (them) a world without bluepills, without "us" (you).

Interesting, I never thought of it that way, although I am still sticking with my idea that it was a message to the machines.  Before the part about "I'm going to show them a world without you", he also said, "I'm going to hang up this phone and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see".  Still sounds like he's talking to the machines, about the bluepills (but then again, no one ever said Neo had any grammar skillz)  :smileytongue:

Why were posts deleted on this thread? There used to be more than just six.

I was under the illusion the phonecall was directly to the system, though in hindsight it may have been to some security service directly monitered by the system.

Glitch in the Matrix?  :smileyvery-happy:   Actually, I don't recall there being more posts (and I've been to this thread a few times as you can see)

I always assumed that the message was just a message to the Machines.
Who really knows what number he called before he sent it? Only Neo.
