I'm excited about this. I liked the first two, minus the ridiculous stuff at the end of Fallout 2 (you know what I'm talking about, and hopefully they steer clear of anything that ludicrous in this one). And especially after getting into the "Jericho" TV series, the concept of a post-nuclear America excites me.

This is a game I've been following since its announcement. I'm a huge Wasteland/Fallout 1-2-tactics fan and despite my fears like a lot of hardcore fans about Bethesda's take on the legendary franchise, I have to give them the chance to renew the franchise. Many original fans would have prefered the game to be exactly like what was done 10 years ago, but I believe that doing a high profile game, but with isometric view and turn based combat in the current videogames industry wouldn't have been a huge success.
The Elder Scrolls series is a very important contribution to computer roleplay gaming, and I totally trust Bethesda to introduce Fallout to new fans (such as Imax, who really well explained the situation). It might not be what Interplay would have done, but with the high expectations from both old and new fans, you can expect Fallout 3 to raise the bar.
And I expect the anti-evolution fans to be disappointed. But that's nothing surprising.

Just because the game doesn't mirror the formula pushed out by other Fallout games, doesn't mean that it won't be an amazing game in its own respect. As long as the story remains true to its roots, I can't imagine it going downhill in the hands of Bethesda of all companies.

Hm.. a friiend of mine said the textures are a bit flakey on PC version if anyone can confirm or debunk this I would appreciate it. I still cant decide what Im getting this for as for RPGs I prefer PC controls but I cant get full HD on my PC on the tv. If the textures are flakey thats even more of a reason to go 360.

Dodgy textures? The PC version graphically inferior to the console versions? That's a technical impossibility! Unless it's actually a real bug that they messed up somehow, in which case there'll be a patch soon or maybe some player-made tweaks to an ini file somewhere. Despite my initial reservations about this game, it does look fun and I've ordered it (and am praying they send me the PC version instead of PS3 like they did for Far Cry 2). But do I play this or Far Cry 2 first? This is gonna be tough.

I got my Fable a day before the UK release (yay Royal Mail turning a 2 day delivery into a first class delivery!) so hopefully I'll be able to get Fallout 3 early (in fact it's already been packed, just needs to be sent which should be tomorrow.) I've not played any of the Fallout series before but I like the genre and I love RPG's especially those in which the world is shaped by your decisions, and now I got an 360 I can play them in HD and not have to worry about system requirements.

No, I don't always manage to get the TV to myself, plus I like to take my time in games like that and explore everything. Also, with the Good/Bad and Corrupt/Pure system I want to try a few permutations. I'm currently playing the game as a male Good/Pure Hero, next up i'm planning to be a Evil/Pure Female etc.. So yeah taking on Fallout 3 before I've finished Fable 2 sounds like I'm stretching myself a little thin, but at least I'll have something to play for a good few weeks! (Hell, i've even yet to play the motorcycle content on burnout paradise! I blame Buffy)

That the PC version? Looks groovy. GUI's a bit big, though. Still, I'm sure it'll look fine at 1920x1200. >_> Ooh, I see what you did with your hair.
