The maximum range for the Sniper Shot ability is 30m, and the maximan range for a free-fire is 26m (I think?). This seems a little short for a sniper rifle. I an idea: Make a second sniper shot ability with a longer range (maybe like 45m), but around half the damage. I think this would be more realistic to a sniper.
I agree that the free fire range should be the same as the sniper shot when using a sniper rifle, but I would say that extending the max range further than what it is now would be detrimental to the current combat dynamics, less chance of being caught.
Sniper is effective, however there needs to be that element of risk of being caught, else it would just be a 'win button' tree. Dog knows we have enough of those in close combat!
I say just increase the range of sniper shot (but nothing else) so even if a sniper takes 1k HP they can't finish you and have to come closer.
30m is approximately the range with setting accessible from the options panel where a target is visible from.
If you run with a useropts setting that allows your clipping plane to be farther out that isn't supported.
The game design has to be done to support the basic game client.
