I thought I HAD the Assassin in my hands, about ready to kill him, but stories rarely end that well in the Matrix nowadays. My story goes as follows:
It began with a massive crowd of people rushing my way, with my cell phone blaring a partners voice. "HE'S RIGHT BY YOU! GET HIS *CENSORED*!" I quickly looked into the crowd to see the Assassin himself running in fear. I readied my gun, primed my courage AND my camera for what I knew would be a fight to remember.
He ran into a Tabor Park, finally turning to face us. We took him head on:
Seeing he was severly outnumbered, and through great teamwork, was getting his *CENSORED* thurougly whomped, he turned tail into the streets, but we did not let up. After a few quick reconstructions and phone calls, we gave chase. I jumped him again, able to stall his retreat:
I quickly found myself being pumbled by large code outbursts he was setting off with the help of his fly swarm. I was forced to retreat and watch the action from afar. I doing so however, one of the Assassin's offspring, The Corrupt, crept frm a back ally way and ended my current RSI form. I screamed for a reconstruction, but everyone was busy with the Assassin. By the time someone got around to re-writting my code, he, and the massive amount of people following, were gone and nowhere to be seen. I had lost, but not out, as I soon came to see.
I was wandering around one of his haunts, trying to find some clue of his location, while I got a message the Assassin was still on the loose. I asked where he was, and they said they had lost him, but he was still about half way deleated. I put the phone away, eager to continue my search, when I saw him suddenly jump out in front of me. I immediately pulled out my filt gun, and blasted the **bleep** with everything I had, bringing his code capacity to about a 1/4 left. He didn't struggle much, which was odd, and just took the blasts. I continued to spary till he fired some magnum rounds and me and turned to run. I quickly gave chase, suddenly remembering my camera again:
My actions obviously caught the attention of some other Redpills in the area, and they too started giving chase to the Assassin:
He kept running, till he got to a narrow ally way, that I now look back on a kean thinking by the Assassin: he had led us into a trap, where HE geld the advantage. He turned, firing his duel hand guns at one of the men following, and he dropped dead with the pin point accuracy of the Assassin's aim. I stopped, obviously concerned of the shots he was sending, not wanting to lose his trail with so much on the line. He reloaded quickly, firing rounds at the operitive next to me, sending him to the grave as well. So it was me and him. One on one. He life was low, I could SEE the fatigue through those dead slits in his mask. I had him cornered, and he wasn't gonna go down without a fight.
I finally charged him, and he fired a round of bullets at me. I felt it piece my skin, slowly my movement to a crawl. It wasn't until I stop wincing that I realized his bullets were encoded with a slowing "vemon" of sorts. limiting my movement to no faster then a crawl. I reached for my filt gun, but as I did, I saw a flicker of movement in his hands as he unleashed some invisible code through the air.
There was a burst of white, then silence.
I stopped, very quickly, as I felt my back twinge. Then I was hit with some of the most excrutiating pain of my entire existance in the Matrix. I cried in pain as my back snapped involentarily 90 degrees in the OPPOSITE direction in which the way it is supposed to bend. I didn't know what was happening, but before I could even CONSIDER and answer, my arm twisted up, as it possessed, and wrapped behind my head, quickly popping out of it's shoulder socket and down my side. The rest, I feel I cannot explain, because it was at that point I passed out. As my back snapped, however, my camera must have snapped off my belt and into the air, because as I came to find out, I have captured pictures of the crippled mess the Assassin left me in in the Matrix. Be warned, this pictures are graphic, and not for the faint of heart.
I was so close to capturing him. And I thought I had. But not everything goes a planned, espaically not in this "nightmare" of a world. I'm glad we defeated him, however, and give all the praise in the world to those that took him down, Merovingian and Machine alike. This is a day we should all remember, for everyone did their part in some way. Be proud. Be strong. We are still here, and I know I don't have any plans on leaving. . .
OOC: Had a great time with this event. Hope everyone else did too.
