We already have--if you don't like all the chat messages, just start using "/ignore [spammer name]" and it'll be cleared up in no time.
I tried rare I really did but everyone was spamming I would have missed everything adding everyone there to ignore.

I find it odd that when "it" speaks there is no name in front of said speech. Vagaries of perception indeed.......

I agree with Dude on this. This is something that has been problematic even during the Monolith days. Silencing whoever is one step in the right direction, but we really need some serious punishment on the lag-fest and spamming.

// Incoming Transmission //

*a laugh is heard*

Yeah, that was an interesting night.

But instead of taking an active role, I think I'll just wait this one out and see where it goes.

Problem, define Spam?  If 100 people each say one thing each, lets even go so far as to say it is relevant and in an RP Context, then would that constiture Spam? It would still flip your chat box up 100 lines.

Repetition of useless or banal comments, yes, Spam...but /ignore can be used on the culprits of that and they are limited in number.  If you want only to hear what certain people say, block everyone else...if you think that person might say something you'd like to hear then don't block them.

It's not really "Spam" when it's just a lot of people speaking..it's more a problem of numbers than banal comments.

((Yeah the biggest problem with this event was all the people spamming "We Believe Morpheus"  "Come back to us Morpheus".  I swear i thought for a moment people would start clapping saying they believe so that Tinkerbell would return...lol)

Morpheus will return and we must prepare for it my Fellow Zionites.

We Must also crush anyone who would threaten him like the Merovingian Fools and the Cypherite imbeciles.

We must prepare for the return of Neo too.

Have faith Zionites and may Neo watch over you.

....

Dwelling in the past, your making all these enemies expecting Neo to come fight with you....

You will be in for a nasty suprise.  It is lucky I know EPN who aren't dependant on Neo.

Is it just me or is there alot of Whiners on this thread? Mostly Mech too.  Funny how that works when you are the ones Spamming the chatbox with your egotistical retorts to the Kid and talkin' smack about Morpheus. Geez, next time shut up and listen, things may go a bit more smoothly.

And you know the flags will come up in the end, as always, so take out your aggression and shittalk on the field of battle. And quit whining about everything that didnt go "your" way. I managed pretty easily to put those on ignore who deserve it. And the lagfest is easily fixed by turning off area effects.

See ya on the battlefield.

((Whoa killer....time to switch to decaf man.  Most of us we upset by the broken Code thingamabobbers we were supposed to somehow defuse but couldnt.  Others were upset by the spam..yeah..but I dont think it was only Mech's in here complaining about the spam.))

My apologies for myself just picking out the Mechs for this. As for the broken code thingamabobbers, hehe, you mean code pulse devices?

Didnt know about them being able to be disabled like the event on Recursion awile ago when Gray was dressed like an EPN.

But seriously, these problems can be diverted thru self initiative. Start with one, and the rest may follow. I was trying to be constructive, that is all. But again, im sorry for pointing the finger at just The Machine Org. But just to let you know, most of yall who were doing what has been discussed are, (and not just Mech, a few of you PvP crazy Mervs and a few Zions) in the death bin ((ignore)) because of your comments during live events ,which the majority of us really like to enjoy and participate in,and ARE the fundamental part of the MxO storyline and why most of us serious players like to jack in.

Most of us go to hear from Main characters, and not to hear random spouts of arrogance and dissrespect.

If you all think about this, and try it once or twice, these events are guaranteed to be more enjoyful, for all of us.

((oh, and Fryzool, its Budweiser, not decaf.))SMILEY

I was seriously disappointed with a majority of players that attended the event. I'm fine with a lot of people talking, but not when it comes to immature OOC, or un-intelligent comments like "C0m3 b@ck M0rph3u5," or spamming banal comments (to quote you on that, Zamp) period. It's impossible to type /ignore PlayerX when the latency meter is red and it takes literally ten minutes for me to type the /ignore command for every individual player that is in the event. Hell, I couldn't even do a single thing other than showing up at designated locations no thanks to the lag.
