But she did say "No. I'll do it." before going to jack in.
Do what?

Maybe moving the information the Oracle gave EPN to another operative.
Well, it was something the guy at the other end of the line thought he could do when he reached broadcast range, even though that was a few days away. So it wasn't urgent, whatever it was. Shimada basically said: 'Nah, it's cool. I'll take care of it.' It was probably something as trivial as reporting the Kid's condition back to the troops. (I use the term lightly. )

Why would we ask that? People are jacked in all the time. I wouldn't assume she was doing anything nefarious, that it was her scheduled time to be jacked in. Doesn't matter now, though, does it?
When was that last time any orgs leader or controller was just jacked in for kicks and giggles and was not working on something?
Yeah, you're right. I think I take the Merv for granted.

She needn't be in the simulation. A loading construct can be used for many things such as training, gearing up, flirting... perhaps even problem solving (I take it EPN are trying to figure out what the Oracle gave them). A construct can give a person far more resources then a ship, even if they are virtual resources.

Still the question applies especially after the conversation that takes place prior.
Ok, perhaps I was commenting more on the ability to use a construct or similar rather then your intended meaning of what was she doing. My bad.

its all good. Seems like theres alot of overlooking going on with this cinimatic.
<-- thought Veil was the one talking to the screen, not Shimada
Yeah, but thats why I'm so fond of discussing details in them when they're released! So I can learn about anything I missed and possibly add something I believe I saw
Well at least it's one less Shim in the matrix.
aww man, I liked Shimada too well this blows
OWNED
Shimada was nicely designed but as one-dimensional as a Post-it note. No real loss in comparison to other more fleshed out characters, imho. But who knows, maybe a Sim-ada will turn up? XD

Bad Garu.
