Hi all,

After about six months of absence I have returned to MXO, however I am having big problems

The client has managed to download everything up till patch 39,  but then it doesn't seem to find this patch 40 (which I thought is live now, released on the 20th?). It just continues into the login to enter my name

and now I played it for a short time early this morning, about 2:30 to 3:00am (seemed to be fine under patch 39 so I thought nothing of it). but now when I try it, since 12:30pm this afternoon it seems to be looking for a patch but, eventually, after 5-10 minutes of long pausing on authenticating, and the occasional message 'an error has occured while trying to connect to the patch download server. URL open failed. Patch servers down or internet connection problem. Keep retrying?', it takes me to login - and therein my next problem 'TCP_TIMEDOUT'.

Oh and another unusual problem is when I tried to create a new character under 'recursion' (I  think that's it, it was called 'Method' back in my days) I get to the accept name and handle screen but then it crashes out with an error and a 'client shutting down' message.

UPDATE: I'd just like to say that I can't see how it can be a connection problem, because it worked this morning and did successfully download everything but patch 40

Both my client and launcher are versions 7.5464

Please post the network information requested in this thread: http://mxoboards.station.sony.com/matrix/board/message?board.id=techsupport&message.id=37

The patch server is online, and available for patching. The problem seems to lie either on the connection between you and the patch server, a blocked port range, misconfigured router, or firewall somewhere along the way that is preventing access. This also ocurrs with an unrelaible proxy (which your ISP may be using without your knowledge).
