This is a story I developed for a person called Grimshadow, who made playing dramatic and fun. Grim, if you're out there, this is for you.

It is so cold. I don't remember it ever being this cold on the ship. I hardly notice it though. I am waiting. Waiting for Fate to come knocking at my door. I turn around on my bunk to the small clock I own. 7:45. Just an hour and 15 minutes left to Judgement. What lies before me? Heaven? Hell? I don't know anymore. I used to know. Those were the happier times in my life, I suppose. The times when I knew right from wrong. Good from Evil. Now, I-I just don't know. I feel the deep call of sleep beckon me. I have felt this before, but I could never sleep since.... NO! I musn't think about it. I let my eyelids fall, and I dive into the ethereal twilight that lies between sleep and waking. I hear screams, but... whose? Gunshots. Flashes. Agony...

I awake with a start and my eyes fly open! I sit up in my bed, breathing hard and sweating. I check the time. 8:45. Just 15 minutes left. I hear footsteps out in the hall. My door slides open, revealing a blinding pillar of light, and the silhouette of a man standing in front of me. I had not noticed my room was so dark.  The man spoke to me. "It's time." He says to me. His eyes were so soft, and kind. I dress myself in my favourite clothes and step out to face my Destiny.
It is so cold outside. As I step out, a blast of air hits me in the face. We walk out to a large room, with a single, clean table with a pillow under a white light. To the right of this table is a man sitting at the Terminal, green symbols cascading down the computer screens. "Yes, yes I understand. Our coordinates are..." Says the man, before spewing out gibberish I can't understand. The man turns to the kind-eyed man next to me and briefly tells me everything is on schedule. He then turns to me, with a somber expression and salutes me. The kind-eyed man asks me, "Are you sure this is what you want?" I look at him, and reply , "Yes. I am sure. It's too much for me to handle anymore. I..." I feel a warm tear roll down my face, "I'm going to miss you..." He looks at me, and whispers, "No, you won't."
He directs me to the table, and tells me to lay on it. As my head sinks into it, I start to drift off. I realize, I'm not dieing. I'm just going back to sleep, finally. I chose this. And as I lie in waiting for my final dominion, I think to myself, "Why am I doing this?" It's so cold..... so cold.....

I remember it like it was yesterday. My name is Grimshadow, and I am a Cypherite. I am captain of HvCft DreamCatcher. Of course, that's only an excuse for me to get my own room, since I am the only woman on my ship. I remember that day, the day my like changed. I was happy before then. I remember that mission, the call that led me to my eventual doom. I was called to assasinate a Zionite. Ordinary mission, right? That's what I thought. I talked to my Operator, Gear. I told him to insert us into Uriah, SouthEast. After that, I went to the "chair" and sat down. My first mate was to come with me. he sat on the jack next to me. His name is Skrilax, and he is my brother. We are not blood related, but we were freed at the same time, so we became brother and sister. He looked at me and flashed his trademark "pre-mission smile", a sort of half smile, half smirk. "Are we ready, sis?" I chuckled. "When are we not?" I responded. We nodded to Gear, and he prepped the computer. THe jack inserted itself into my skull.

Ugh. I never liked that sensation. It's like bein ripped from your body for a brief millisecond. When that feeling disappeared, I knew I was there. I opened my eyes to reveal a world of flourescent green light. It was everywhere: the buildings, the sky, even I was made of it. As the green light dissolved around me, the world returned to normal. I was wearing my signature tunic and black mask. I was in the Matrix. I was home...
