Awww... I've been trying to set up a new rotator sig by way of MxOResource for the past few days, and it was just yesterday I needed to look up something from the Atlas. I'll be missing this site: hope someone can salavage the most important stuff via Google Archive.

Hm, shame to see such a useful tool disappear like this. I'm still running The MxO Archive if anybody needs things like node and key coordinates, hardline locations, etc. I admit I haven't been keeping it very up-to-date, though (MxO Resource was letting me get away with being lazy, since most people were using it instead anyway SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />.

I'd also be happy to look into posting any of its tools or resources on my site, though that "clothing database" sounds a bit daunting for an old-fashioned HTML coder like me.
Your site won me 125 million $i in a trivia contest on Vector, mostly thanks to having the exact XYZ coordinates of the gang boss Teacher. SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=

Thank you very much!

I had no idea the expiration already happened or I would have renewed it.  It's really great to hear how many of you appreciated all the work that went into making it, and how much of you still used it even though it was severely out-of-date.

I'll see what I can do.  All the databases are still intact, but I'm not sure if I have the source files...

EDIT: On another note, the domain was bought by someone else.
Phew, good to hear this wasn't deliberate. SMILEY

Still, surely only the domain's expired, not the site itself. Why can't you get at all the source files? Or tell us the IP address and username, if it's in the form ###.###.###.###/~username/ like so many sites are.

Ah yes, of course.  Alright, well, the files are accessible.

But, ya know, the site would need updating, and adjustments to the code would have to be made.  Maybe I should just... build a new one.

Would be cool.  I know it's a hassle to built a site from scratch.  I took a HTML/CSS class on the semester that past.  It isn't as hard as Java but still.  Heh

(On a side note:  How can I adjust the time of the forums to my time zone?  I looked under "My Profile" and couldn't find an option.)

It's a hassle when you don't know exactly what you're doing.  I learned an incredible amount while building Resource that will make a new site more efficient, less complicated (for me), and provide a better user experience.

On a side note, our server/backend is PHP/MySQL. SMILEY

Crikey! SMILEY

As far as I'm concerned, Resource is (was?) awesome enough as it stands (stood? SMILEY), but if you really wanna do it again, I can't stop you. SMILEY Show once again that the community does a better job of Web development than SOE does, eh-heheheh.

Can't you put the old one up somewhere while you make the new one, though? SMILEY

Just FYI, nobody 'wants' it, it's standard practice for hijackers to grab any domain that becomes available with the sole intent of forcing the previous client to pay an exorbitant cost to reacquire.  Until then, it will either get parked or utilized as a faux search engine to pilfer traffic.  Forget the domain name mxoresource.com unless you feel like shelling out hundreds of dollars or even upwards of a grand to get it back.

It was a good resource, but if you put a new one up you might want to double check the information. I believe there were one or a few.... shall we say incorrect references in it.

Such as what? I noticed some dolt had put up fictional Snowman positions, but that's because that feature was free to contribute to and evidently wasn't monitored. Other than that, Resource has never let me down.
