I remember back when the Red Eye agents were first appearing and attacking redpills saying they were in posession of illegal contraband, but before all of this happened I remember fighting the red-eye agents in a mission and getting, you guessed it, an utterly useless PDA with a red dot on top of it.

But now that I rewatched the Matrix this brings a new question to my mind.

Could it be possible that the PDA's were actually tracking devices? Because I remember the bug thing that was inside of Neo when trinity threw it out of the window the top of it glowed red.

I think the rumor was that those PDAs could decompile Bluepills and turn them into Red Eyed Agents and that Silver the contact was helping with it.

Yeah I heard that rumor but I soon forgot that guys name.

Now that's a theory that makes sense.  I'm buyin' that.

Also apparently, The General seems to be in charge of the LED Agents, or he is some form of leader to them. I wonder what his reasoning behind this is other than destroying the matrix and controlling the lives of thousands of people etc..

 

Also I did some missions for Silver, and another person named Mercury. I know that a lot of people hate Silver, but this was interesting. Silver makes you steal a prototype that Mercury was working on in one of his missions. In Mercury's missions you have to deliver a prototype to this guy that works for Tick Tock. The first thing suspicious in this mission is that you are reading a strange code in the matrix from this package. The second thing I find suspicious is that when the guy opens up the package he says something along the lines of the prototype looking like a cell phone which maybe means the PDA. So here is my theory, Mercury had more than one prototype of this PDA I guess to show most of his distributors. When Silver made you steal it, he made more, and put it up for sale not knowing the powers intended upon it to make Mercury go out of business or something. So I am guessing here that The General took one of these PDA's, and found a way to decompile bluepills into the LED Agents with them. Again, this is just a theory.

 

 

   Niobe revealed the origin of the fragments during the first event (I assume that the same information was revealed to the Machine and Merovingian organizations by one of the Agents and either the Merovingian or Flood).  Quote ...

 

   "It looks like Neo made certain changes to the Matrix while he was here. We're
not sure why or what they're supposed to do, but the Machines have discovered it
too. As you can imagine, they're not happy about it.

 

   The Machines are throwing all their best code breakers at it. But now we think that
by dismantling the programs Neo put in place they've triggered a failsafe.

 

   Neo's residual programs are fragmenting, but we think that's what they were
designed to do. The fragments are flowing through the Matrix now and it looks to
some people like they might have left us a message or maybe even a weapon.

 

   What we need to do now is find these fragments and discover what they really are
and what they really do.

 

   It's a sure bet the Machines and the Frenchman will also be gunning for these things
so watch yourselves. The truce isn't going to mean a thing when you cross paths
and you all want the same scrap of code.

 

   We also have another problem - there's another group out there too. They seem to be
marked by bright lights but they can disguise themselves - be careful.

 

   As far as numbers go we need as many as possible.

 

   If you get one of the special fragments we have a series of clandestine drops set
up on the streets of the Matrix - get your frags to one of these collectors and they'll
give you some additional resources that you can use to keep looking for more.

 

   I know some of you may have heard other things on the street from Captain
Morpheus but I urge you to stick to the facts as I have outlined them to you here.

 

   Ok that's enough standing around - get out there and hit the streets people - there's
no time to waste!"

 

   It seems the fragments had little to do with any Neo/Smith merger.  The Machines found what Neo changed, try to dismantle it, and triggered the failsafe that caused what Neo did to fragment and be spread throughout the city where the false Agents got their hands on it.
