Hyperdodge?

It just doesn't work. I got it maxed and get hit all the time by lvl 47 npcs.

I had the same problem!! I loaded a bunch of abilities and some of them were for defense and the others had resists and sometimes when I got attacked I got hit and other times they did too much damage!!!!

Theres nothing wrong with hyper-dodge and with cr 2.0 your going to get hit more.  No matter how hard you try to avoid it you will get hit inside and outside of interlock.  You have to build your resistances so when they do hit they do very little damage.  It takes some getting use to and it has its advantages as well as disadvantages.

I know I've been testing for 1.5 months. I mean that sometimesI get hit like 1/5 of the times they shoot and sometimes I get hit all the time like I aint hyperdodging at all. When I reactivate hyperdodge, they miss again but after a while same thing happens.

yeah we get hit too much. its just foolish for a level 20 npc to be tearing me up with gunfire. the low dmg does not make this ok. i dont care about dmg i just dont want to get hit this much. its causing super super high item decay, and its causing hacker to get interrupted ALL the goddam time when trying to throw a hack. they should have increased concentration to compensate for this, cuz now i get interrupted quite a bit more often than before. bothersome. only a few things like this suck, most of cr2 is pretty cool

Ok my edit didn't make it clear enuff'.  I was being non-literal.  A post like this is pretty useless don't you think?? I mean I'm not above a little anecdotal storytelling myself but c'mon you've gotta do better than, "hey this sucks why dont' you fix it?"  Some additional information would be a little helpful don't you think like A.  what was your ballistic def./resistance? who were the npc's? what wsa the damage? what was your health?  Any of the above may help get your complaints taken seriously.. otherwise.. ya yer right this sux they should fix it :smileytongue:

I am lvl 50 and doin a mission with a lot of lvl 47s. My resistance is about 150. The hyperdodge works from a beginning and then suddenly I get hit ALL the time. I've checked system chat. And I die because of that. Happy?

Alot of 47's sounds like your doing a pbox 3 mission.  Hyper-dodge wont protect you from 30 npcs shooting at you.  It might block a few of them but most will get through.  Are you saying that none are being blocked?  Whats your ballistic defense?  The strength of Hyper-dodge depens on your ballistic defense bonuses.

And to make ballistic defenses stronger, check down all of your hacker stuffs and read down the details. You'll find that you can get pretty tough and take a lot of shots. Be sure to load up concentration so that you don't get interrupted as much when being shot either. It's awesome :smileywink:

Ah the defense vs resistance talk. Let me try to put some like on this.

In CR 2.0 you are going to get hit... Alot more than your used to.

Defense can make a difference but it can only truely be seen over a long number of exchanges.

For example say with X defense you get hit 50% of the time determined by 100 or 200 exchanges. Now you turn on another ability that increases X defense you would need to take the same sample of 100 or 200 exchanges to see the true difference between whether or not that ability is helping you. In my testing, yes it is but this is the kind of test that would need to be run in order to determine if a specifc defensive abiltiy is working properly.

ok, that makes sense but cant the frequency of being hit be adjusted downward? its causing problems ingame beyond personal preference...
 
items are decaying at super accelerated rates.. ive had a meson rifle break on me 3 times since cr2 went live. not buying them anymore =D
 
specials are getting interrupted OVER AND OVER AND OVER. this is making life for the gunners and hackers very frustrating =D

- Meson Rifles have always decayed really fast for some reason.  They have always been like that.

- Theres abilities you can load if your attacks are being interrupted.  I actually think abiliites arent interrupted enough.

I think I dicovered what the problem was. I usually load grab for some defence bonus, but when I kill 1 of the guys grab goes off and I have to press it again. Then Hyperdodge "works" again. I suggest that the chosen tactic doesnt turn off when killed an enemy in cc. O and  why do we lose IS when NOT firing an ability in cc (I'm not talking only in cc but u know that finishing blow when u don't fire the ability because the enemy is already dead)? I just want to know. I beg a dev to answer that 1, please.

On the Meson rifle issue, I believe it was explained a long time ago that Meson rifles would decay rapidly because they were invented after the timeframe of the Matrix simulation-- the turn of the 21st century. So "they don't belong."  Somehow it doesn't fit well into the code. 

On the interruption point--there's certainly abilities to boost your concentration bonus, but as far as what prevents interruption--Concentration is it. As a somewhat related question, I wonder why Concentration caps at 30 points, leveled to 50. It would seem to be easier to make it a straight progression, one point per level.  

P.S. Tiger Master's Gi gives +20 to Concentration--which is why you see a lot of people running around with them on now.
