I commenced work on the google gadget about 20 minutes ago... It shouldn't take too much to port from Vista Sidebar due to the high levels of similarity between the two formats.

I'll get a text-only beta version up shortly and then I'll update it with the final version.

As with everything Mac (code-wise), the Yahoo Widgets are needlessly complicated. That one will take me a while (what with work, as always, kicking my behind... not to mention all these job interviews).

The flash version for inclusion on MxO space will be the last one to complete as I don't currently have flash installed and have no plans to buy it (the last version I had was Flash4)... if anyone suggests software piracy I will, as a coder who makes income from his programs, carve your heart out with a spoon.

Proof that this hasn't been abandoned... I have the clock working with font substitution and a few other bits of trickery...

ignore the other clock below it... that's just for correct time reference

Now all it needs is stuff that's mostly plug-in java I've already written.

And Void... don't make me carve... well I believe we've already covered that issue SMILEY

Announcing: The Matrix Online World Clock for Google Gadgets! (for Windows XP, Vista, Mac OS)

Get it HERE

Features:
  • Default timezone for the clock is MCT (PST) - Automatic Daylight Savings Time adjustments to all time zones
  • Clock displays in your choice of Matrix Code or Normal numbers
  • Each instance of the clock can be named and set to a different time zone
  • Clock Name is fixed and does not scroll in this version (unlike the Vista Gadgets version)
  • Hover your mouse over the clock to see the date
  • Clock is currently 12 hour display only in [hh:mm:ss a/p] format
Future releases of this will feature tidied and optimised code, 12/24 hour formats, and the option to scroll long clock names... if I ever get around to it SMILEY

As always: the code and server are mine, but virus check the download anyway.

As a side note... I had to create this bugger from scratch except for the images.
Vista and Google gadgets are similar... But are only cross compatible in very limited ways when it comes to porting JavaScript.

Works like a charm. SMILEY

It is smaller than I expected, which is a good thing.  So many of these gadgets are oversized.

Neat, Simple, Small, Kewl, MxOTimeGadget.  SMILEY SMILEY SMILEY

I'm glad you're all liking it SMILEY

Small was one of my main concerns due to the abundance of comically huge clocks available... I wanted something that would aid productivity, not hog screen realestate. The Google version could be smaller but I decided to keep it the same size as the vista one, and the vista one is the minimum possible size.

And ... indeed it is:

Small. Green. Different. SMILEY

It's working great with my Mac, too.
