Funny that you mention it, Rarebit was also holding sparkles in his hands when he tripped over Walrus's bucket and accidentally dropped them (and the old Gis) in an inconveniently placed bonfire.

Good thing about sparkles is there are so many of them. Thus plenty left for the Gi! SMILEY

You've gotta be joking me??
You have Commando's Gear, SSR Glasses and now extra knives?

MA was well over-due for some 'lovin, next patch Hacker!

I think Masked was actually referring to the fact that possession of the box disables all the stealth states/methods. SMILEY

Scary stuff for realz.

Yes yes, good man for seeing my intent.

I think it is kinda weird, that we are excluded from this batch of toys. However, every Spy has a nasty Hacker side. SMILEY

Rare,

Some pretty cool new rewards, though I hope going forward you will maybe start upping the buffs on the level 50 endgame clothing. With new content upping the difficulty level, maybe we could see some new rewards with higher%buffs, health regen etc?

Imo the quicksilvers and seraphims are still by far the best items in the game because of those kinds of things.

I guess the point is a pair of pants with 8% to all defense,36 all resists and 50% health regen would be prefect ;p

So, some observations about the clothing rewards:

Gloves are nice, determination bonus is kind of superfluous.

Boots are nice, especially the jump bonus. The noise level modifier thing is a bit wierd, don't know how helpful that would be.

Now, as for the Gi. Time for some screenshots.

Here is one of the Shinobi Grandmaster Gis:

Breaking it down, the Thrown and Melee resists are great, it's a fairly unique resist combo. Melee Accuracy 3%, good. No Melee Damage bonus, I expected one because of some of the buffs on the Elite Commando gear.

As for the Force combat bonus: 3% is completely negligible. Let's compare with an ability ingame:

If I remember correctly, 20% is MAYBE enough to break someone's shield in 2 hits instead of 3 if you sit on grab and they sit on block. 3% ontop of that doesn't appear to me to be doing anything at all that is actually helpful. But, I could be wrong.

The Initiative bonus is I GUESS alright, I don't really use the Desperation ability so I don't think I could give accurate feedback on it. I don't think it would make that big of an impact, and considering Desperation is an ability that you can only use every so often, the % bonus to initiative should be higher on the Gi in my opinion.

Now, take that Gi and compare it to one almost every MA has:

I would probably only use the Shinobi Gi, after comparing to the RocaWear in a duel against another MA or a duel against a Spy. For general PVP, it isn't that great except to look pretty in.

Now, as for the boxes being Anti-Spy: I love it. I would usually load MKT or MS to farm single high-powered NPCs in PVP constructs to basically never die. You could just get far enough away from the boss, put on a disguise to sit and regen back everything. You keep going at the boss repeating this pattern until they're dead, not really much of a challenge.

Honestly, considering what it looks like what you'll have to do for these Gi's, I would have thought the Gi would have been something on the lines of a level 50, 10 Gloves.

It has 3 resistances, 2% damage, 2% accuracy, even 100pts of max health. Pretty good for a level 35. The only thing that might make MA's baaawww is no melee resistance, but I'm not complaining.

My goal for quest reward clothing items is to make items that are slightly better than enhanced gear, statistically speaking, with a different mix of buffs from the usual, thus expanding player choice and strategy in what to wear when. I have no interest in making overpowered gear that would render older gear totally obsolete, and result in everyone in the game wearing the same thing all the time, as has happened with those glowy gloves that everyone wears (which I did not make, and wouldn't have allowed if I hadn't misread Dracomet's spec and thought they were a luggable >_<).

lol, Luggable gloves.  You could make a collector that you could turn in Quicksilvers for another style of gloves with the same buffs, that would create a little variety visually.

And I'm with Zudrag, yay for no stealth abilities.  I enjoy working with a group to get the rewards.  It's more.... rewarding... that way.  Being able to 1 or 2-man a box is just a little boring.

I definitely understand and totally agree with your plan Rarebit, however some of the items I can't help but look at and think "Lame".

While +2% to all accs sounds good in theory in the end your basing nearly all your attacks off 1 acc anyway, so I'd go for normal enhanced acc gloves just cause they have more resistances.

I think my hopes for this game having gear progression just died...meh...Shouldn't seraphims pretty much be taken out of the game also since 90% of players use them?

I love mxo, just makes it a little depressing that my Wow char has gone from about 4k health to 11k this past year, and my mxo char is still stuck at good ole' 2700 after 3 years.. Mmos are more fun when you have worthwile things to put in work for imo.

I can get my health to 3,811 with some of my loadouts. And I could push it up even higher if I wanted.
