I've had this issue since Update 66. I don't think this has anything to do with SOE's recent mistakes. The solution is always one of the following:

-Close your browser if you have one open.

Why this works, I have no idea. There shouldn't really be any issue with a browser open but I'm not gonna complain if it works.

-If it doesn't work the first time, you must open Task Manager and manually close the process.

For some reason, matrix.exe doesn't always close when you shut down the launcher. If you try again, and it doesn't work keep shutting down the failed attempts.

-Use Station Launcher

Station Launcher usually has a higher chance of authenticating for me. Probably something to do with the fact that you're already partially logged in.

I tried all of those, and I still can't get in.

Woot I finally can post again! I was having the authentication error, then I closed Firefox just to see if it would work, logged into MxO launcher and it got me in. Then once I went back to DN1 I found I was jacked out again and couldn't post.   Good times.

Checking now... i'm back at authenticating. I'm sure using those fixes will eventually work though.

Closing Firefox worked for me too. I thought SOE couldn't stoop any lower, but they prove me wrong by secretly plotting with Microsoft to kill Firefox. SMILEY

If you're having trouble try a Full System Check on the launcher, that fixed it for me.

Got one lockup this morning but closed launcher and restarted it and it let me in.

So here's my issue: my MxO launcher client isn't updated to the latest patch, but it won't download anything for updating, either. I tried turning off Firefox and retrying with Full System Check on, and it seems to be aware that it needs to update, but nothing.

I downloaded the Station Launcher to see if the issue was with the launcher only, but the Launcher seems to think that MxO doesn't exist.

Fun stuff.

Get someone to send you their game files. I'd do it for you, but I'm at work.

Eh, I'm just downloading MxO from the Launcher now, to see if that works.

I still cannot get in. This bs had been going on for a few days now. I have done everything that is listed and then some. Seeing as I have always been sub'ed and didn't re-sub, if this is how SoE is going to do things especially when I have been paying for this game and 2 of their other games for how many years now. They even need to get me in game or give me my money back period.

If I am paying for something without fail then I should have access to it whenever. Charging me for 3 games but only letting me access 2 makes sense how? SoE where the hell is my money if your not going to live up to your end of the deal here?  I am not paying you people to not have access to 1 of the games I pay for.

Once again deleting my commnets will not make me go away nor will PM's asking me what all I've done only to stop talking when My list of things I have done Including CSR assistance surpass your ability to furhter run me around, as well as shut me up.

I should not have to deal that or this nonsense. You people either fix my account that I didn't re-sub to so that I can have access to MxO like those who you've screwed over on the re-sub nonsense then let in, or give me my money back.

Enough with the childish games and poor business tactics.

All these posts about people having trouble logging in and bugs remind me of the first few months of this game. Ah, the good ol' days.

I should be able to log in as I have been for over four years.  I shouldnt have to run full system checks every time or jump through any other crazy hoops.

while i dont think it was firefox, it makes me wonder.

It isn't Firefox. I am hanging up there too.

It let me in last night and then the game crashed while I was helping someone with a stat hack.
