THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR HACKERS TO POST CRAP ABOUT VIRAL DEFLECTION ETC. OR OBJECTIONS TO THE IDEA,THIS THREAD IS FOR PEOPLE THAT WANT TO /SIGN AND MAYBE ADD A FEW SUJESTIONS.

Many people have posted about the hacker debate and the hacker side seems unwilling to even discuss how the balance issues can be sorted out by either ignoring sujestions or just randomly quoting about viral deflect or what neo could do etc. so I think it would make sense to have a server where the hacker and coder trees are ripped out and coding is made part of the loading area.

I havent thought out all the details because I honestly can't be bothered at the moment but I do know that if there was such a server I would delete my current char and start over if I had to and I know for a fact that others would too.

I am not saying that I think soe will even care, all I am saying is that if you would play on such a server you should /sign because soe are more likely to do this if there is enough interest.

Before any hackers pipe up and say "Yeah like soe would waste time messing around to set up another server" or "the coding issues involved blah blah blah" I would just like to say-what the hell do you care and why should I give a **bleep** about your opinion when you have made it quite clear you don't give a **bleep** about mine?I posted many sujestions on ways to balance the hacker trees in this forum and the last and frankly I give up.

As I said I don't expect soe to even read the thread but forget that, forget the coding issues, forget about any buddies you have that use hacker, just sign if you think that when you first got the game and you had seen hacker in action you would have picked the non-hacker server if you were given the option or,of course,if you are a hacker who doesnt enjoy reading hacker bashing threads.

I thought of this idea awhile back. I think it might be fun to have
one, but I'm holding off on signing this until we see how the devs
change the combat system.

*Disclaimer: I am not a hacker, and nor have I ever played a hacker, I don't like them, but :::**

hahahahahahaha!

Seriously, there's no chance in hell this will be allowed, to delete an
ENTIRE tree for a server would...funnily enough, cause class imbalances
and would be too much hassle for SOE to deal with, especially at this
crucial crux of game modification.

I personally don't see a need for it.

MA complain about hackers, hackers complain about knife throwers, knife throwers complain about gunman, ... etc its a cycle.

I have played a knife thrower/assassin combo and even though people are complaining it is nerfed; I love it as is. Hacker, Vector, Despoiler they all seem to die when I use knife thrower. I throw a knife while sleathed that does damage over time and they have a hard time using abilities because it interupts them.

People say knife throwers can't hit, well ever tried to hit a hacker? They have no bonuses to ct for a reason. I use a +15 ct booster and do hard missions. The only time I have trouble is against gunman cause they shoot the life out of me.

People want to be invincible and be able to kill everyone by themselves, even other players. There is no need for a new server. People just need to realize they aren't invincible.

**bleep**, Skim reading comes to my hindrance again.

I read that comment, and apologise, it was silly of me to be so quick to chaste.

However, i'm not going to sign as my point (and yours it would seem) still remain.

Wow this idea reeks of noobishness.

I mean, good idea, do you play on Vector? Are you lvl 16 or above, possibly with a M&M faction?

Yes it would still remain but thats no reason not to sign,as I said,it's not like soe will do anything anyway I just wanted to know how many people would have chosen a non-hacker server to start off with if they had known how things were going to turn out.

It's not just about how overpowered hackers are believe it or not (I too have a knife thrower loadout) It's also about the way hacker doesnt fit in with the rest of the matrix universe.I know hackers feel that it does but if there was a non-hacker server then the problem would be solved-hackers stay where they are and anyone that thinks hacker should be removed could just remove themselves to the non-hacker world.

But once again,I don't expect anything to come of it but it would be interesting to see how many people would have opted for the non hacker world.

Freiheit,no I don't play on vector and no I'm not a noob or I would be using the hacker tree.

And as for the other 2 idiots,I said I didnt expect hackers to sign as they are way too selfish and only too happy to make sure other people have no fun even if said peoples fun doesnt effect them in anyway.

This doesn't actually address the problem. From a development
standpoint you want to ensure that you can introduce a solution which
deals with the issue for the long term.

In this case, you'd be removing an entire tree...which would be removing:

1) A key, interesting and innovative part of the game

2) Removing the ability to have a player change his/her mind without having to change servers

Not to mention the extra development time involved in settingup the
platform, the logistical side and of course provide support for an
extra game world which also means a longer testing/debugging cycle.

I work alongside internet infrastructure developers every day, I can
assure you I am only posting this because I know it's a bad idea. I
*totally* see where you're coming fro, but a proper balanced solution
is needed.

Thanks,

Rsync.
