I have been loving the recent threat of agent attacks as it reminds me of the good old days so i was thinking about how it works now and it simply doesn't make sense. So here are my thoughts or ideas.

Data Node threat levels - If your a level 50 in a level 24 area in Westview for example your signature to the agents should be higher than a level 24 in the same area. Thus you should get attacked faster than the lower level people. Set the threat level based on level of the area and the higher the level the more threat one generates. This to me just simply makes sense as a high level would stand out amongst the crowd. This will force people to utilize higher level areas or tap the nodes which in my opinion is a good thing. And hopefully this isn't to hard to accomplish in the code of the game either as it seems it works opposite currently.

Reset Data Nodes - Data nodes you currently hack to mask your signal. In this idea think of tapping a data node like say stealing a satalite signal. The signal gets reset from time to time so you have to re-tap the node. It makes sense that the machines would release new keys for the data nodes from time to time. The time limit could be static for all nodes. Perhaps ever few months all nodes are reset. Or perhaps it's dependent on the node itself. Like all Sobra Shore's access nodes reset every x day while others reset another day. Lastly they could perhaps reset automatically x days after a character taps them. Obviously having them all do it on a specific day would be easier for the development team though. Like the beginning of each chapter it's reset.

Machines and Data Nodes - Lastly i always thought it was weird that a machine would get hunted down by an agent. If feasible i think Machine characters should be exempt from the threat of agent attacks. This would offer something unique to that group of people. I'm sure if needed we can think of subtle things for the other orgs too although i don't think it's needed.

Anyways what do you think?

As if Zionists getting hunted down outside Richland wasn't bad enough you now want to hand even more to Machines?

Right now they are the only group who can get the FM-1500, no one else gets an equivalent. The point of hacking access nodes is to prove you are authorized to enter that area. Do you think Agent Gray is gonna go "Righto, you've done 1 mission for us, now we'll let you roam around the city unhindered by our agents"? Redpills are Redpills, they are, after all, only human, and the machines will still treat them with a modicum of distrust until they have further proved themselves, ie by hacking the nodes and proving they have the skills necessary.

I have like 121 rep on my mech and i still get hunted down by agents. I have been a machine for 2 years. I still get hunted down by agents. I'm just saying storyline wise it makes sense.

And i do not have a FM-1500. Id love one but i'm not special enough to get one apparently. Other than your objection to point three however what did you think?

Well it looks like this update included an edit to the Tagging process, something is going to make it a bit more difficult, at least that how it seems from what Niobe said in that LE.  My guess is still the Data Sentries are in the wrong place.

It doesn't matter that you work for them, you are still in an Unauthorized area. Thats like someone saying "I work for the American Gov't, now let me into the whitehouse" not gonna happen sorry. Rules are rules and if you are caught snooping around somewhere you shouldn't (Hence the Agents yelling "You are not Authorized in this area!" ) then you are going to pay the consequences.

Apart from that I like the idea of the scaling threat, a higher level person in a low level restricted area more likely to be jumped. But not resetting the nodes, that will just be an inconvenience and I imagine will drive people insane. If your plan to make machines immune to agent attacks goes through I can imagine quite a few people will go machine simply for the perk of not having to rehack the access nodes.

EDIT: I hate it when it inserts smilies due to punctuation.

Also i thought storyline wise that the data nodes were an exile device so that they could hide in relative saftey in the districts.

Good point Phaydren. Alright drop point three from my suggestion. I still like the other two points though.

No, thanks. I'm not interested in getting jumped by an Agent if I'm stuck in Westview/International/Downtown for more than three to five hours trying to get red fragments, or access node keys. Point two, not every single player has the time, nor patience to re-gather keys again just so they can maintain access in Westview/International/Downtown because said player has a life to attend to.

Must you bring up Red Frag farming in every possible post? Seriously, it gets annoying seeing you on this constant warpath.

Hey, you're not interested in getting jumped by agents. If this god-forsaken idea was implemented, the entire farming process would just be ignored for other reasons besides the drop rate problems.

Honestly, I would only change something in this game, if it is really needed...

The Access Node Hacking has worked fine for the past 2 years so why would you suddenly want to change it?

Surely you've braught some suggestions, that would make this more fun and a bit mor exciting maybe, but I dont think that anything needs to be changed concerning access node hacking.

Good points, the only thing I would change is the level of the Agents; 255 agents is abit much. Lower it to lvl 100 like the rest of them but in certain places like areas of downtown such as morrel can keep the higher levels. The resetting I don't like though.

If it were possible to have a level 100 with level 50 damage and accuracy, I think that would make it fair.

I love both idea's, apart from the machine idea for obvious reasons and the fact I don't think it can be implemented anyway. I don't see too much of a disruption. If keys were made trade able also it would open up a completely new market, those who want money can sell keys on the Marketplace and those who can't be bothered farming for a key (to be honest it takes 5 seconds to kill a level 25) can buy the key, I'd also then like the locations of the nodes being placed upon the map once you tap it once. Plus the idea that a level 50 causes more disturbance in a level 24 area is pure genius generally because you would have thought that a level 50 would cause more of a disturbance to the code.

On the off note though I'm not sure if the nodes are reset-able and the devs have stated before that the game doesn't follow canon storyline so...

I agree with this. It's a great idea but bringing it in would probably take a lot more time and effort when (as others have said here) there's still existing issues within the game that need to be addressed.

You get the nodes as proof you can do it and to get access to that area. No point complaining about not having a node, just go out and get it, problem solved.

The thing is, even when you're at the bosses, they don't drop every single time, it's only a 60%-70% chance of getting the keys (i.e. kill the boss at least 10 to 20 times just to get said keys)
